“The house itself was lovely, albeit a tad dated and in need of modernisation in the bedrooms.”

    ...

The bathrooms could also have done with some basic toiletries in the them such as a soap, shower gel and shampoo, especially in times like these and for a “5 star” property… that was disappointing as we hadn’t brought any due to always having them before in a property of this standard before. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfortable. The best thing going for Highview is it’s position. It’s perfectly situated for all local amenities with beautiful views and has its own parking! It’s a short walk to local restaurants and attractions which makes it perfectly situated. The owners were always super helpful always contactable. It just lacks the little extra touches that we have received in other 5 star rental properties to make it that bit special for the price paid. All in all we had a very nice week in Scarborough and it has a lot it offer for all the family. Great costal town with fabulous beaches and a great local surf school right in the North Bay.

The property

Highview is a spacious seafront holiday home, within the coastal town of Scarborough within striking distance of the North York Moors National Park.

This wonderful retreat is perfect for a family seeking a base to celebrate a special occasion or for those looking for a traditional coastal getaway to this part of Yorkshire.

The striking blue exterior is a wonderful contrast to the period and characterful features that await you inside, as well as carefully selected furnishings and everything you could possibly need to enjoy a week-long break.

Be welcomed into the formal dining room, where seating for up to 12 guests’ rests in front of the bay window, offering far-reaching views of the surroundings to enjoy as you tuck into your meals.

Prepare such meals within the well-equipped kitchen, which is spacious enough for a couple of the budding chefs of the group to gather to whip up home-cooked meals for the entire family.

Venture up the staircase to relax into your evening within the sitting room, where you can tune into the TV or get lost within a book to pass the time during a rainy evening.

Alternatively, if you seek a moments peace and quiet away from the rest of the group, head to the second-floor where a lovely snug room awaits with a TV and seating.

As the evening draws to a close, be spoilt for choice by the sleeping accommodation that awaits you, with five bedrooms situated across the three top floors to choose from.

Designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement, here you will find a twin bedroom, a second-floor king-size, a second-floor four poster bed with views of the coast and castle to enjoy every morning, a third-floor double, third-floor family bedroom with double bed and single bed and a third-floor single day bed, together sleeping up to twelve people.

During a balmy morning, you and your loved ones can look forward to soaking up the sunshine upon the patio area or catch the final glimpses of sunshine with a glass of wine one evening.

Scarborough comes with everything you could possibly need, including a selection of shops for picking up the essentials, as well as a number of eateries to suit all tastes, whether it be fish and chip shops, fine dining seafood or traditional pub grub!

During the summer months, head down to the beaches of North Bay and South Bay to soak up the sun or try your hand at boating in Peasholm Park.

If you are visiting with younger guests, they will be delighted to make a splash at the Alpamare Waterpark and the Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary.

Highview promises a refreshing getaway for the whole family to enjoy this coastal part of Yorkshire.
