  • “We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation at 22 Hallgarth - everything was immaculate and there was everything there that we needed.”

We also loved the little back garden and enjoyed the sunshine sitting out there with our cups of tea! Great base too for exploring North Yorkshire in more detail.

The property

Situated in the bustling market town of Pickering in North Yorkshire, enjoying a central position, is this period property, 22 Hallgarth.

Be impressed by the tall ceilings and cohesive, contemporary interior, perfect for hosting a family or group of eight for a trip to explore the North York Moors.

Be welcomed into the grand hallway and step across the original quarry tiling to find the open-plan living space; here you will be impressed by the contemporary interior used to create a perfect spot to socialise with your nearest and dearest at the end of another adventure-filled day.

Settle on one of the sofas set before the large bay windows and get lost in a good book as you are warmed by the heat from the traditional woodburning stove, or gather to watch a film on the Smart TV.

Tuck into a feast spread out at the dining table, perfect for a special occasion, you can enjoy evenings of fabulous conversation and good company beneath the marvellous feature light fittings.

Within the sleek kitchen discover beautiful blue units and wood worktops holding an array of appliances to help you create delicious dishes, including a fantastic, large range cooker and five-ring gas hob, you can perch next to the kitchen island with a glass of wine while the food simmers away.

Completing the ground floor is the utility room holding a washing machine and tumble dryer, leading to a handy cloakroom as well with a basin and WC.

When you're ready to rest and recharge for the next day ahead, travel up the tall staircase to the first floor and discover the first bedroom; making use of the space effectively is a family room holding a double bed and a single day bed, providing flexible sleeping arrangements and all within a fresh colour scheme of grey and crisp white.

Up two steps is the beautiful bathroom, where a bath with a luxurious rainfall shower attachment rests over it, so you can choose a long soak or a hot shower after a day of long walks on the Moors.

Continue on to find a double bedroom where two sash windows flood the room with natural light, so you can wake up to a bright morning before hopping in the double shower enclose within the pretty tiled en-suite shower room.

Finally take one more set of stairs to find the third bedroom, where a super-king-size awaits, able to be transformed to two single beds if needed, as well as a single day bed resting here too beneath the sloping ceilings, with wonderful views through the Velux windows.

Pickering rests just below the North York Moors National Park, so it's an ideal base for avid walkers who want to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful landscapes throughout the day, but have plenty of choice of amenities and restaurants in the evening.

Discover Go Ape in Dalby Forest where a treetop adventure rope trail makes for an exciting day trip, test your limits and swing through the trees among the forest canopy.

Flamingo Land Resort is just south of Pickering and is a family-friendly theme park with rollercoasters, rides and a host of animals.
