  • "Lovely cabin."

A little dusty. But that didn't stop us from being very comfortable. WiFi not great. Wildlife lovely. Deers see you but they just carry on eating. Bats came every night....I counted 6 in 1 night. Could hear the owl but never saw him. Everything you need on 1 level. Close to all the amenities you needed. Beautiful beaches a stone throw away. Thank you.

  • "Deer Lodge was in a lovely, quiet location just a short walk to clifftop paths and the beach which we enjoyed doing every day with our small dog."

The lodge was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a short break. The only criticism would be the internet which made streaming on the TV in the evening quite frustrating as it kept buffering every few minutes. Overall we were extremely happy with the accommodation and would definitely consider visiting again.

Really peaceful and quiet and modern in facilities.most off all was on opening the patio doors and looking out on wild fields, full of wildlife. Just to sit out there after unpacking and relaxing with a nice cuppa was so calming and a good start to the holiday. We would often see rabbits and foxes plus a lovely visit from a young deer. Deer Lodge does live up to its name. In all it was a truly wonderful and relaxing stay.

  • "We enjoyed our week at Deer Lodge."

The beds are comfortable and we all slept well. The lodge is fitted out to a high standard with regards to fixtures and fittings and furniture. I wish I could say the same about the kitchen equipment, there is very little with which to cook a meal. Whilst the oven and hob are great, the only items which could be used in the oven were a pizza tray, a small oven tray and a 12 hole muffin pan, nothing which you could roast a chicken or make a baked pasta dish for instance. There isn’t a washing machine or dryer and there is nowhere to dry wet clothes or beach towels. It is impossible to keep the Lodge clean as there is only a dust pan and small brush and what appears to be a car vacuum cleaner that doesn’t keep a charge, so I apologise if we didn’t leave the floor as clean and tidy as I would normally. Having said all that our 4 year old Granddaughter and the 2 of us had a lovely time at Deer Lodge.

Sorry you found the kitchen equipment inadequate, I think you must have missed a supply of ceramic dishes in a cupboard that are suitable for the oven. It does not unfortunately have enough room for washing machine and dryer in the kitchen so I supply 2 drying racks, kept in main bedroom. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. • "The property is in a garden at the back of the house, the parking is on the front of the house and to access the lodge you walk down the side of the garage."

The lodge is in its own fenced off area. Inside it is mostly comfortable apart from the settee which is very saggy and could be in need of replacing. The beds were very comfortable as was the outside sitting area. The Lodge was clean and tidy although we found there could have been more equipment in the kitchen, things missing included washing up sponge, measuring jug, oven trays, torch, ice cube tray, only one tea towel, brush and dustpan or sweeping brush. Although the description said there was a gas bbq it was not there. A welcome pack would have been nice, maybe a cake, some milk or bottle of wine etc. Things we loved, lovely shower and bath, plenty of hot water, the lodge was lovely and warm obviously well insulated, we loved the outside sitting area, the king sized bed was very comfortable, it was also very quiet and we could sit and watch the birds, rabbits and occasional deer. The TV was a good size. We would definitely come back to the lodge to stay again but based on our experience of a lot of Sykes cottages we feel it just needs a few things tweaking and it would be 10/10.

Thank for your comments. I will look at providing further kitchen equipment. The setee is of good quality and the cushions are all feather filled and because of this you do sink into them. To sort out the problem I have had sponge inserts put into the base cushions to raise it and stop the cushions from sagging. Due to the wet weather we have put bbq under cover. A hand held electric hoover is always in the cabin along with a torch. Property Owner

The owners couldn't do enough to address the issue and they were really kind and very understanding of my youngest and his additional needs. We would come back. Xx

Nice and quiet stay. Clean and well kitted out Short drive to the North Bridlington beach and slightly further to Flamborough Head. Small nitpicking that soap was provided in the main bathroom but not in the ensuite. Also to find the WiFi password had to look on the base of the router and it has a loose connection. Two small points all completely outweighed by the positives of Deer Lodge. Would definatly stay again. The pub round the corner serves lovely meals but is very busy and you cannot book a table so go early and be prepared to wait for the fresh meals to be prepared

No toilet brush or bin in en suite......empty hand wash....no cleaning products we like to leave the property clean as required....kettle needs descaling. most of these small things could easily be rectified. There is parking available on the owners shared driveway, we parked two cars there. It is approximately 35 yards from the drive to the Lodge which is in the owners back garden. The car needed to be parked 35 yards away at the front of the house, then you had to walk down a narrow passage way to the door of the cabin.
