  • "The post office was the perfect getaway for our large family group of 13 from 77 to 2 years old!"

It was situated in a lovely village and close to the bus into York, a park a short walk away entertained the children and the hot tub in its own gated courtyard was much appreciated by all. The kitchen was equipped to suit our needs and it was lovely to have a table big enough to accommodate us all together. The range of bedrooms allowed us to fit everyone in our group, without any squabbles about who was sharing. The beds were very comfortable and after our travels around the local area to Beningborough house, York, Flip out, Hickory’s, the local farm shop and more, we were guaranteed a good nights sleep. There were some lovely local walks which our dog enjoyed too and it was appreciated that we could bring him with us to join in the fun. The house was clean and beautifully presented with nods to its history in the post related decor and the layout was great for a large group. The separate snug was a bit of a retreat and the living room had enough seating for us to enjoy time together. The owners Alex and Amber were very responsive and communicated well. We would highly recommend The Post Office as a place to stay and hope to do so again in the future.

Thank you Caroline. It really is in a great position for a whole range of activities and days out. Love that you loved the beds; always great to have a good nights sleep (so many times when we're away, owners fail to spend good money on mattresses!). We're so pleased you enjoyed the house and the different spaces it offers too. Thanks so much Property Owner

  • "The Old Post Office was a perfect place for a multi generational (83 yrs - 4 months) family weekend."

The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated- reflecting the building’s history and it had a good layout. It was great to all be able to sit around the large kitchen table and eat, drink, chat, laugh and sing together. The outside hot tub area was excellent- it was nice and private, protected from the elements and a real sun trap. The additional seating there meant we could all be together outside. The house is in an ideal location to pop into York using the park and ride or there is a direct bus.We went to the Dawney Arms across the road for a lovely meal with great service. Alex the manager was also great at ensuring everything was going well for us during our stay. I would highly recommend this house- we had a wonderful, memorable weekend there!

Thanks Julie - we love that you love the house - we do too! Pleased you enjoyed the local amenities as well as going into York for everything the City has to offer right on your doorstep! Thanks so much and we'll see you next time! Property Owner
