  • "Thank you Mary & Martyn for allowing us to stay in your beautiful barn."

I could not have wished for a more picturesque place to stay and it surpassed all expectations. I thoroughly recommend opting for Mary's Cream Tea, it was so delicious and worth the money. We had the most relaxing week with our young pup and have already booked it for Christmas next year which we are already counting down the days too, it was beautiful in the summer but we can't wait to use the log burner and fire pit in the winter months! Only 461 days to go *sigh* Thanks again M&M, Sam, Simon & Albus.

Sam, Simon & Albus Thank you so much for the great feedback and we are looking forward to having you all back at The Barn next year. M & M Property Owner

  • "The Barn has been renovated to a high standard and is in a very peaceful setting."

Parking is easy and the garden would be lovely to use in dry weather. The welcome pack included milk and homemade scones and sausages rolls which were much appreciated. The owners were very friendly and obliging. The kitchen was well kitted out and the only thing we missed was a colander (which I'm sure they would have provided if we'd asked), and perhaps a few more pieces of crockery for when the dishwasher was on. As a shortsighted person who has to be right up to the mirror to apply makeup, I found the soft lighting in the bedroom really frustrating, but I have also found this in five star hotels, so I apologise for nit picking! We did appreciate the wifi, Netflix and the coffee machine, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property for a peaceful country holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we have now supplied a colander but feel there is enough crockery in the kitchen. With regards to lights in the bedroom I apologize but hopefully the lights in the bathroom are brighter. I'm glad that you enjoyed the welcome pack and hopefully you will try us again. .. Definately reflected the 5star rating and more. Peaceful location too, wonderful way to relax and a good area to explore different towns & the coast... Milk in the fridge when we arrived was a very kind gesture, then to find homemade sausage rolls & freshly baked scones with jam & cream, absolutely perfect! Just what we needed after a long journey... Very clean & tidy, everything you needed was supplied from all kitchen utensils to toweling robes.. Amazing!

The Barn is clean, comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated, with plenty of room for 4 people (2 adults, 2 children in our case). The log burning stove made for lovely cosy evenings and the owners left a lovely welcome basket of homemade goodies for us. Mary and Martyn were very friendly and welcoming hosts and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. • "A nice property in a beautifully secluded and quiet little village."

In fact it’s barely even a village as I think only about 8 properties. The Barn itself overlooks open countryside and has a wood burner and even a fire pit for the warmer months. It is also dog friendly. Owners are very helpful and friendly and live in an adjacent property. There is so much to see and do in and around this area as you would expect bordering the Yorkshire Moors. A highly recommend property in a good position to explore the area at a very reasonable price.

Thank you for your lovely comments hopefully you can come back in summer so you can enjoy night by the firepit. Great to meet all of you. Property Owner
