House was equipped with everything you would need, spacious living/kitchen/dining areas and large comfortable bedrooms. Lots of places to walk and visit close by. As seasoned cottage holidayers we would highly recommend and thank you to Sharon for being on hand if we had any queries. We had the best New Year Celebrations

Sharon was so accommodating, and had the most gorgeous friendly pups. The house had everything we needed, and location was great for nipping into Helmsley! Beautiful grounds around the property and lots of outside space. Would hugely recommend to anyone looking for a couple of days away with a large group of friends / family

  • "Tuft House was the perfect venue for our multi generational holiday to celebrate our Golden Wedding."

The house is very well equipped for this type of holiday. There is so much space that everyone could find somewhere quiet when they needed some ‘time out’. The annexe is a wonderful bonus too. Everyone loved the jacuzzi and the front lawn was the perfect area for the children’s games. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. The children were really sad when it was time to leave as they’d had so much freedom and such a wonderful time with each other. Another bonus is the village bakery, who had our order for croissants and pastries ready for us to collect each morning when out for a run or bike ride. We would all like to return to Tuft House in the future. Thank You.

  • "Tuft house is a huge, beautifully decorated home which makes a great weekend getaway."

The host gave us a lovely welcome and took the time to show us around the whole property. It is a beautiful home and tastefully decorated throughout. The rooms are a bigger than pictures make them seem and no one was short changed for the bed space as all options were comfy. We had 18 people so 2 people did have to sleep on a sofa bed instead of a massive kingsize behemoth mattress but it's ok for short stays. The surrounding area was so peaceful and we didn't have any noise complaints even late into the night. The view is amazing from the house and shops aren’t that far (15 minutes wish) if you do need to go for a shop, with smaller shops in the village. I would recommend bringing some food to get you going as it is a small village with not many options but there is a barbecue which had been cleaned for our use and it was great to use that. Mobile phone signal in the area is basically non-existent which actually turned out to be a good thing, it engaged everyone and kept people off their phones. But it is annoying if you do need to contact someone or even contact the host for questions about properties, it's rare you can can use the phone. They do live next door so it isn't too much trouble to ask for help. There is a £300 security deposit which you have to pay before arriving. This is understandable but I didn't see it displayed clearly on the original booking page which I think is misleading when trying to budget for a mini-break. Sites like Airbnb handle these issues themselves instead of us having to supply a deposit, that was my only issue with the process and it was a fantastic weekend.
