  • "Great location, very central, clean and tidy, would recommend and would stay again."

  • "Some of the comments we read before going were not very complementary, but we found the proper to be very clean, comfortable, well appointed and in a great location."

We were slightly worried it might be noisy when we returned to the property in the evening, but it wasn't.

  • "We stayed at this property last year and really didnt think I would book again due to the cleanliness!"

But the location won and we hoped that that the issues we had last year were just an isolated incident. Unfortunately Not! There were items left on the floor from a previous occupier, including Christmas decorations and childs toy and worse of all broken glass. Which not only shows you that this property does not get cleaned properly but is also dangerous! Then the Sensor for the light outside and in the hall is obviously faulty, as this was going on and off all now which meant we got no sleep. But worst of all was the amount of black model in the en suite.

Hi, Sorry you had issues at the property, We use a syke's managed services approved cleaner for the property and are surprised to hear you had issues. The isolated mould on the chipboard back to the cupboard under the sink is not something we had been made aware of as nobody ever uses it but we have now arranged to have this rectified. Sorry again, Property Owner

  • "Location 10/10 just far away enough from bars to not get the noise but close enough to be a short stroll to everything you need."

Cottage itself 10/10 perfect size and good facilities. However cleanliness was a 3/10 on the day we arrived I felt something under my foot so got the brush and found tie nails and a generally in clean floor. there was no toilet roll provided which is not clearly stated but as we were close to shops this wasn't a major issue. On the day of leaving there is a note asking for you to strip the beds and put into the laundry bags provided! Firstly there were no laundry bags and second I was disgusted to see the state of the mattress topper on the beds! I have a picture I would happily share On the whole we loved the place and would go again if the cleaning was a higher standard or we could get in before 3pm to give it a proper clean before our stay.

Hi, Very sorry to hear the level of cleanliness was not upto to the high standards we expect. We use a Sykes Managed services recommended cleaning service and will be taking up this issue with them as well as addressing the issues we can resolve from our end such as replacements for the toppers. I hope that otherwise your stay was enjoyable. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "The cottage was absolutely perfect."

In the centre of Whitby so within walking distance to all the attractions, very close to shops, and a 4 minute walk from a long stay car park. The cottage itself was clean, excellent facilities and had all amenities you could ask for. There were 4 adults and 2 dogs, and the cottage fit us all in fine. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and kitchen had all the appliances you could need. I would highly recommend this cottage to anybody! Only negative-Was a little hard to find the property so maybe be more specific on the exactly how to find it, but the people of Baxergate street did help us eventually :) also, the hoover that was provided was not the best at cleaning up due to hair in the actual vacuum head and the filter, so they might need to be changed (only giving this feedback so the people who occupy the property next will be able to clean up a little better than we could before they leave, although we did use the dustpan and brush instead). Otherwise it was absolutely perfect :)
