  • "Just returned from a lovely week in Cha Cha's cottage, with my husband and young grandchildren."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, with everything you could want in a home from home. The welcome basket with wine, cookies etc was a lovely touch and much appreciated after our journey. Whilst a private cottage, it is set in part of Captain Cookes Haven, and as such there is access to the heated indoor pool which we loved. Also at a small fee the laundry facilities, ideal for people with small tots forever needing changing. Cha Chas is in an ideal setting in the beautifully maintained grounds , with easy access to the communal play area and several BBQ's provided free of charge, but with a lovely private patio area too. We were visited daily by Charlie squirrel and the odd duck who had lost its way. Whilst almost all of this area is quite hilly , the walk into Whitby across the viaduct is easy, with just a few steps at the end and pleasant to do. We would love to stay here again next time we holiday in Yorkshire.

  • "The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Moors and shopping in Whitby."

It is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The on site swimming pool is warm and well maintained. The welcome basket of Easter eggs and wine, plus two pints of milk left in the fridge for us was a really nice touch. Will we return... You bet we will!

  • "The pool and playground was fab."

Nice and quiet site. Lovely walk across the viaduct. Maybe a local guide as what is in the local about as it took us a while to get our bearings as to what was about.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Cha-Cha's cottage."

It was spotlessly clean with everything you need to enjoy a break away. It was lovely to be able to sit out in the quiet and a perfect location for visiting North Yorkshire. The indoor pool was a real bonus too which we used a few times. The only drawback was the WiFi was very a poor signal and we had to use a personal hotspot to get access to the internet. Maybe mention this in the details for future guests. Overall we loved our stay and hope to return.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Cha Cha's Cottage."

Location was excellent in the shadow of the viaduct, which was the start point for an easy and enjoyable walk to Whitby. We can't fault the cottage, it was spotless and a great place to stay. We also enjoyed meeting the owners. It was a shame the pool was closed but this was due to Covid restrictions. Not a fault of the cottage/owners but would have been nice if recycling was available at the location.

  • "Cha Cha's cottage was lovely, well furnished and cosy."

Facilities were above what you would generally expect from self catering accommodation and the cottage was spotless. A welcome pack was much appreciated. A few minor niggles though. The kitchen was very small - realistically only one person could work in there at any one time which did cause some inconvenience. Also the property was advertised as sleeping six - I think this is fine for families but six adults would find it a squeeze. A parking zone card was provided in the property but with no directions as to how to use it so we were left a little uncertain when we used it in Whitby. I know Covid regs mean that little written info could be provided but more general info about the cottage, the site and surroundings would have been really helpful. A couple of examples - it was not clear what to do with the key on leaving, there was no information as to whether a caretaker/ reception staff would be available. On the plus side contacting the owners was easy and the owner I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful.

  • "Cha cha cottage is clean, spacious enough for 6 people."

It has a well equipped kitchen and outside space at the back. Car Parking close to the cottage and more parking just off the road leading to the cottage. It is in a perfect location. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, it is a 20 minute walk over the viaduct into Whitby. Walk the opposite way and it’s a 5.5 mile walk to Robin Hoods Bay. It’s a great place to leave the car and explore this beautiful area on foot.

  • "Absolutely enjoyed staying here."

It was clean, warm, inviting and the beds were comfy. Intended as a base to travel from, it was nice to come back to throughout, and at the end of the day and unwind. Our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 small children) loved it and can't wait to come again. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

The cottage is equipped with everything you could need. We loved the kind touches of a bottle of milk in the fridge and a very welcome bottle of wine and some biscuits from a local bakery. These kindnesses make the holiday even more special.

The Wi Fi was a bit hit and miss but we discovered it was more reliable upstairs so was probably due to the location. We would certainly come back.

  • "Cha Chas cottage is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need for a family holiday home."

The setting is quiet and well managed with a good sized swimming pool. Walking to Whitby over the viaduct is about 20 - 25 mins along a cinder path avoiding the need to walk on the road. There is a pub a short walk away, The Penny Hedge, which serves good food at a fair price. I would definitely recommend this as a family holiday home and would stay again. Thanks!

The owners were easy to contact for arrival details. Site management was excellent and facilities good. The whole site is well designed and makes a beautiful holiday centre. The only (very) minor criticism would be that it would be lovely if the pool could open earlier in the day. We will definitely rebook this cottage.

It was well equipped , very clean and bright...very nicely decorated and suited the three of us very well.Great to have the swimming pool on the site. The position of the cottage was great as there was parking, we could walk into Whitby along the Cinder Path...which took about half an hour and was easy to get to other coastal towns from there. This lovely cottage just outside Whitby is a real "home from home ". It is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. It came fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and a real bonus is being able to park your car right outside the door in your own dedicated parking space. This cottage on a small complex only a mile from Whitby is ideally situated for visiting the surrounding coastal resorts and North York Moors. Although we didn't use it, there is a swimming pool and children's play area on the site. A short walk across the viaduct or down to the river allows excellent views of the steam trains going past. This cottage far exceeded our expectations and we will most definitely be returning.
