• "We had a lovely stay."

  The back yard was perfect for our little dog as it was completely secure. We didn’t really use the kitchen except for teas and coffees but everything seemed in good order. Only a 10 minute walk to the town centre. The on suite shower was very powerful which was great.

• "Good location , only 1 steep hill back from town which was very doable ."

  Great dog walks close by . Tv took a bit of getting used too but then ok . Stairs very steep particularly up to the loft room for anyone with mobility issues . Nice to have some outside space although very small .

• "We had a lovely short break in Whitby and coastal corner was the perfect base."

  Only a short walk (5 mins) into the town. The house was welcoming, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we could want. Thank you for the dog toys-they were much appreciated by them. The only thing we would say to improve would be an extra small chair in the lounge as one person always had to sit on the floor. Wouldn’t have been an issue if the weather had been good and we could have used the courtyard.

• "Can't fault this house."

  Clean with excellent furnishings, equipment, etc, to make a great, smooth holiday. Good location, easily walkable to town. Excellent communication from the owner. Fantastic place, and I'd definitely come again!

• "I'm always skeptical about booking a cottage/house due to a previous bad experience but I need not have worried with this one."

  The house was immaculate and extremely comfortable for 3 adults, 2 teens, a newborn and a cockapoo. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook and clean, the lounge was extremely comfortable, we were blessed with some lovely weather so took advantage of sitting outside in the private court yard with a glass of wine. The teens are desperate for me to book again because we were close enough for them to go off and explore together, although they did complain about the incline to walk back to the cottage but for the location that's inevitable. The ensuite was lovely and a good sent with having some many people to get ready on a morning, we will most certainly book again soon.

• "The cottage was immaculate."

  From the moment we entered it felt welcoming and it had everything we needed. There was clear instruction for everything. Our dog was catered for, too with treats and toys left for him. We will definitely recommend to all family and friends and will definitely use this company again.

• "We had a lovely week in Whitby our first time took the mother in law too."

  Place was super clean and tidy layout was lovely. I thought there was a en-suite with the bedroom right at the top and my daughter was excited until we saw there wasn’t. The beds were not comfortable at all and the sofa downstairs were that low you had to roll off them on to your knees and stand up. We hardly used the downstairs bathroom as it was along way to go when you need a wee in the night and your 74. But other than that shower was nice and we had a nice break.

We do plan to add an en suite to the very top bedroom in the future, but it does state on the Sykes site that there are three bedrooms and only one ensuite at the present time. We are sorry you didn't find the beds or sofa comfortable. It is difficult to get any beds just right, as we all have different expectations of how firm or soft mattresses should be. We are also sorry you found the sofa too low, it was deemed to be standard height when it was purchased. Property Owner

• "We loved Coastal Corner, lovely clean property which is very nicely furnished and well equipped."

  It's just a 10 minute walk into town. The nearby pub is very nice and welcoming. The chippy on the next road was excellent and very reasonably priced. We would 100% recommend this property and would love to stay here again.

• "We arrived on the Friday afternoon of the Whitby Regatta."

  The area was busy, but we managed to park outside. On entering the property we were impressed by the cleanliness and the presentation of the property. Rooms were spacious, with thought put into what guests may require when using the property as a base for exploring. Bathrooms were cleaned to a high standard. Bedrooms were also nice and clean. The bed in the master bedroom wasn’t the comfiest, but the host quickly responded to our message and sent a mattress topper to try and resolve this issue. The property is situated only minutes away from the harbour, shops and other amenities. We were also able to explore Robin Hoods Bay, Goathland and Grossmont which are only a short journey away in the car. We think the property is a good holiday let and would recommend this to others visiting the area.

• "We had a fantastic weekend at Coastal Cottage."

  Fantastic location, very clean and cosy. The gifts for us and the dogs were a lovely touch! The beds were comfy, the kitchen fully equipped and the small courtyard was perfect for us and the dogs and looked lovely lit up at night. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

• "Coastal Corner is a lovely property."

  We were a party of four adults, a small child and two greyhounds. It was perfect! We were welcomed with coffee, tea, milk and cookies, with a bottle of prosseco in the fridge. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Communication with the owner was excellent too. Parking is on the street, but we never had a problem getting parked. It is located just a short walk from the centre of Whitby, with the local friendly pub and chip shop within a minute's walk. I would not hesitate in recommending this property.

• "We found rubbish under the settee, the furniture not at all comfortable especially all the beds really need to completely replace all mattresses."

  The television was a nightmare no live TV only apps not happy with theses we would have liked live tv in the evening early nights, busy during the day. Whitby is a lovely place but so many restrictions having our dog re the beach one restaurant al least & Pannett Park not allowing dogs. Where the house was not really enough grassy area so all in all don’t think will hurry back.

Regarding the settee, we were unable to locate anything underneath it, and all other reviews we have received have described the property to be very clean. We are sorry to hear that the mattresses weren't suited to your needs, these were replaced just last year. The TV is a Smart TV as mentioned in the description, and has many apps including BBC iPlayer, where you can access Live TV. Arrangements are being made to install a TV aerial, and this will be done in due course. In regard to your comment regarding no Green Spaces, the famous CinderPath is five minutes walk up the hill, and it provides great and safe walks for dogs and families. • "Had a fab stay at Coastal Corner for my mums birthday."

  The house has everything you need, the little welcome pack was a nice bonus, and there was plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 dogs. Location is great, 10 minute walk into the heart of Whitby, it is a steep hill down to the town though. Parking near the property was easy to find, even arriving at 4pm on a Friday. Communication from the owner was excellent. I would definitely recommend to others.

• "Great property really well maintained and tastefully decorated."

  We loved our stay. Everything you need and spotlessly clean. Location was perfect and convenient for all the facilities in Whitby. I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Whitby. Only negative is the steep climb up from the town. Anyone with mobility or breathing issues may struggle. But that can’t be changed and is part of the Whitby experience.

• "A lovely, clean and well equipped property in a convenient location."

  All of Whitby easily accessible and within walking distance. We stayed over the New Year period and appreciated the little touches from the owner- Christmas decorations, bottle of fizz, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. The owner very thoughtfully arranged for the house to be warm and heated on our arrival. The property comfortably accommodated our family group of 6 on our short break.

• "Lovely place to stay for a holiday."

  Very homely and clean. A lot of thought and effort put into the accommodation, well equipped kitchen, cupboards and under stairs cupboards with everything you could need. Beautiful welcome bag and excellent house book. Only issue is parking, which is out of the owners hands. Could usually park within a 5 min walk. Would recommend arriving by train, as lots to do all over Whitby, or parking on 24hr carpark if you can at £9. Great accommodation. Would recommend.

• "We had a lovely time in Whitby."

  Coastal corner was clean and comfortable. Parking next to the property was difficult but this is as described and there was parking down the hill (2 mins walk) as described. The town centre is less than 10 minutes walk, there is a convenience store in the next street if needed. Carrolle was very helpful, she even posted back some items we left behind.
