• "Lovely house, perfectly located 10 minutes walk from the centre of Whitby."

  Very clean, excellent facilities and everything we could have needed was provided. Communication from the owner was excellent, we were even offered a later checkout without asking which was very nice of them and much appreciated. There was 7 of us staying covering all age ranges and everyone enjoyed the stay, there was plenty of room to not be on top of each other and the large, lovingly maintained, garden was a big plus. Highly recommended and we will definitely consider returning again.

• "Isla is a stunning holiday home."

  Comfortably catered for our party of six adults and two children under 4. Perfectly located close, but not too close, to all that Whitby has to offer. Star of Isla’s show is the beautiful tiered garden, with lawns, patios, choice of seating areas and great views up to the abbey and glimpses of the harbour. Lovely welcome pack.

• "We had a great week at Isla House despite some slightly dodgy weather!"

  The house was wonderful with all the facilities we needed with a two year old toddler. Very easy to get to the beach and all Whitby has to offer. When the sun shone we had some great time sitting out in the beautiful garden with great views across the river. Thank you Lise for a lovely week in your house in Whitby.

• "What a fantastic place."

  Beautiful furnishings, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and plenty of space. The real fire was amazing and kept the place warm. It accommodated a group of 8 old school friends for a girlie weekend away..just because! Loved all the little touches around the place that were both practical and decorative. Be prepared for lots of stairs! But kept us fit! Stairs leading to lower bedroom could do with a rail. Lisa the host was lovely - very friendly and helpful. Quiet location but close to the centre. Would definitely recommend this place.

• "What a beautiful house."

  A lovely welcome package was left to greet us on arrival as well as milk in the fridge, the log burner warming the place nicely and lots of lovely toiletries too. A real home from home. We were a group of friends staying and had a lovely weekend. Easy walking distance to the harbour and seafront & plenty of places to park nearby. There are quite a few steps both outside & inside the house so maybe not the best for anyone with mobility issues. Lisa the owner was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

• "Isla House more than met our expectations!"

  Everything was spotless with beautiful decor but still cosy an comfortable and had everything (and more) we needed for our family break. The location was great, just a short walk down into Whitby. Lisa, the host, was honest, friendly and helpful from the start, even offering to have the log fires lit for our arrival. The lovely welcome gift basket was fab. Would certainly rebook on another visit to the town.

• "This is a comfortable and beautiful house in a prime position to access Whitby town."

  Visitors are made to feel welcome with flowers and a welcome pack. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in February and will certainly return. The owner obviously takes pride in the property and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

• "Lisa made our first visit to Isla Cottage very welcoming."

  From the warm open fire to a basket of goodies on our arrival, it was just perfect. We were looking for a home from home with a relaxing feel and this property has just that. A gem of a find so closure to Whitby Town Centre.

• "Fantastic weekend with friends."

  Perfectly located in very easy walking distance to Whitby. Everything you could need and more in this property and some lovely touches as well. T bags were much appreciated as we forgot to bring! Highly recommend this property. Just a tip, the back entrance to house is down a small ginnel between the houses, we took a while to find it.

• "Just home from a fabulous stay with the family at the lovely Isla House in Whitby."

  The house was extremely well equipped for all of our needs, a generous welcome pack upon our arrival with complementary toiletries and beautiful fluffy white bath towels. Our host Lisa was available if needed and we were even offered a later Sunday checkout time. Plenty of roadside parking spaces available outside the property and only a short walk into the main area of Whitby. A very enjoyable stay indeed, would highly recommend.

• "A lovely holiday home in a great location."

  The walking distance into the town centre is perfect and there is minimal noise at night. The house is over 4 floors, so be prepared to work those leg muscles! Beautifully decorated and well equipped house. Communication with the owner has been superb and questions very quickly answered. We would definitely stay here again.

• "Had a brilliant family holiday at Isla cottage with 4 adults and 4 children aged between 4 weeks to 7 years."

  Got a lovely welcome pack on arrival from owner Lisa who was always at hand for any questions I had. The cottage was stocked up with all essentials and toiletries. It also had all practical household gadgets you need including washing machine dishwasher iron hairdryer etc. it was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with ample room for us all. The beds were so comfy. We spent most of our time in the large kitchen / lounge area. Books and games were also provided. The garden was absolutely gorgeous. The cottage was an ideal location for access to local shops restaurants railway/ bus station and Whitby beach. We also ventured out to York Maze and Flamingo land. There are so many lovely places to visit in local and surrounding area. 10/10 for our weeks stay. The only thing I would say that finding a car park space could be difficult due to busy holiday season and us being out and about most of the time. Also due to the steep hill from the car park to property, it was hard to navigate a 4 week old in a pram but despite this we had the absolute best time. Thanks to Lisa for being a lovely welcoming host. Would definitely come back here again and will be recommending Isla cottage to family and friends Angela & family

• "We stayed at Isla cottage for 3 nights arriving Friday 27th June ."

  First of all we got parked at the rear of the property no problem at all upon entering the property we were blown away with the size of it the furnishing the bedding towels you name it everything is 5 star and then we went out the front door wow the gardens are magnificent what a great place to sit , chill , catch up , with friends , have a drink and soak up the views . The 6 of us absolutely loved the place and are already talking about booking it for next year . It's around 5 mins walk into Whitby Center what more could you want if your looking for a stunning house with stunning gardens and view to match you can't beat Isla house and to top it all off Lisa the owner was always on hand if you needed to ask a question she was just a text away if I had to score our whole experience of Isla house out of 10 it would be a 10+. • "Isla House is a lovely, characterful holiday home with a beautiful, terraced garden which is perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks."

  The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked with crockery. There was milk in the fridge and a welcome basket of treats. As the living rooms were unable to seat us all together, the dining table was the focus for our evenings. Isla House is just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Whitby. It was a delightful place for our family reunion.
