  • "Lovely stay in Redmayne cottage, very comfortable and clean, only thing we would say that due to where it is situated by radiator, you cannot open drawers fully in freezer, but this did not spoil our stay."

Welcome gifts of milk and biscuits etc very much appreciated.

  • "Nice bungalow in good location, well equipped."

My only negative was position of fridge/freezer, impossible to open doors fully to store food or clean due to location next to radiator!

  • "Just back from a week at Redmayne Cottage."

The cottage is a real home from home everything you could possibly want. Location is great it’s about 5 mins drive into Whitby and you can also walk. We had a toddler and my mum who was 82 so we drove but lots of great little walks around the cottage and the garden great to keep at toddler secure and just to chill in after a long day sightseeing. Little local kids park too. Parking is great as we had two cars. It’s just at the back of the property. Easy to keep on top of cleaning and all facilities in the house are great even did out washing before we came home. Would recommend for kids, elderly people and pet lovers. Beautiful cottage and neighbours welcoming and have us advise on where to go etc. Local beach is Sandsend and literally 5 mins drive just about 50 steps to walk down but the most beautiful beach. Well recommended cottage for all you needs and location.

  • "Home from home."

Perfect in every way. Really comfortable, very clean with everything we could possibly need provided (including fresh milk and lovely biscuits on arrival) No sign of nosy neighbours mentioned previously just friendly and helpful people on either side. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back!!

  • "Nice quiet setting, apparently where you park your car it’s for 3 cars side by side even though I parked in front of the sign for Redmayne."

I was asked to move my car over the other car which was parked there when we arrived was also at the house next door so I presume they have 4 parking spaces. We had a welcome party from the nosy neighbour next door telling us the man that owned the house had just left and also on our departure glad it wasn’t the summer and we weren’t sat out in the garden I dread to think what she would have been like. I would just like to say the bungalow was comfortable but the cleanliness wasn’t up to Covid guidelines and deep clean yes it was surface clean but all the skirting boards were dusty and the fan extractor in the bathroom needed cleaning but other than that the bungalow was ok.

It could do with a light around the back so you can see when letting the dog out otherwise great!

  • "Lovely accommodation clean and bright with parking."

Definitely needs an outside light on the back garden, for when you key the dog out in the evening. Nice touch having a Xmas tree up. Would stay again.

Fabulous that it comes with parking and is walkable to Whitby town without parking if you don’t mind the short walk, so much to do & see in a perfect spot to do all sides of what Whitby has to offer. We had a really relaxing time and will go back. would definitely recommend to others

Ideal location. Enclosed garden which was ideal for the dog. Shower had good pressure and was lovely and warm. Met one nice neighbour ( lady next door) . Everything you need. Great holiday accommodation. Would definitely recommend!

  • "We had a brilliant holiday at Redmayne Cottage ."

It was very clean and very well furnished. It was in a lovely quiet area and very handy for the cinder track where you can walk into Whitby which takes about 15 mins. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again for next year.

  • "Nice quiet cul de sac, neighbouring residents very friendly."

Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits supplied for arrival. Advertised as having Satellite TV, but no Satellite on our arrival, however not a problem as modern smart TV and WiFi made up for this. Dog food bowls and blankets provided if your dog likes to be on settee or chair, which is a nice touch. Could do with a non slip mat for inside the shower other than that it was excellent. We would happily return to this property in the future.

  • "Great location, easy to walk into Whitby and some great walks along the river and railway line."

The cottage was clean and smelled fresh and was very well equipped although a reading light would be a good addition as would an outside light in the garden for letting the dog out in the evening. We had a very good week and the good weather helped.

Very comfortable, great shower, dog safe garden, friendly neighbours. Whitby is a great town, in walking distance from the bungalow, although very hilly!

  • "We weren't sure where the off road parking was, so needed to phone the owner."

It is at the back on Canterbury Close at the end of a path leading to the property. It might be worth putting this in with the key details. The property itself was lovely and very clean and only 15 minutes walk from Whitby. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend.

A short walk in to the centre of Whitby. The parking is at the back of the cottage but is easily accessible. Would recommend this as a comfortable place to stay.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Redmayne cottage, very good location, just a 10-15 minute walk to attractions, restaurants and shops on this side of the swing bridge 20 minutes to the other side of the swing bridge, there is a big hill back up from Whitby but nothing too strenuous, cottage is really well maintained and everything you could want the small milk on arrival was a lovely touch too!"

Great location for links to Scarborough and Staithes/Sandsend. I would recommend this cottage to all my friend and family and will definitely stay here again when on holiday!

  • "Bungalow was lovely although the location would have taken longer than the 20 mins stated to walk back from Whitby due to the steep hill."

The bungalow has a step into the hallway from the drive but otherwise would be a good option for people with mobility issues. We found that the gates stick and would benefit from some attention. I would recommend this property to family and friends and would love to stay again in the future. Thanks to the owner for the milk in the fridge it was most welcome.
