  • "The cottage was one of the best we have stayed in!"

Very well presented with a super modern kitchen and a comfortable lounge and dining area. Intended for four people, it had ample space for the two of us and we enjoyed the quiet location and our week away in North Yorkshire. The detailed and clear house brochure covered everything we needed and the owners ‘extra treats’ were much appreciated. Many thanks to Patricia and Dominic.

  • "The property is superb."

It’s in a great rural location which was really quiet. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful, attentive & welcoming. They have invested in good quality equipment throughout the house which was nice and I would highly recommend the property to anyone. Parking for 2 vehicles outside. It’s well located for the east coast esp. for Scarborough & Whitby but there are also lots of other attractions & places to visit nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • "Very nice quiet stay ."

Really relaxing despite the weather. The property is cosy and warm . Comfy beds to sleep in. Very clean and tidy. Maybe the addition of some king of washing machine to deal with dirty clothes after a days walking .would be of help . Other than that the cottage is perfect.

  • "Overall the cottage was fantastic, beautiful and clean."

We really enjoyed coming back after a long day's walk to relax. Some great touchs with LED lamps in bedrooms and sensor lights in the kitchen, could do with some extra soft furnishings and more artwork to make the cottage more welcoming. We would definitely recommend to others.

The log burner however was very good.

Dear Peter. Thank you for giving Barn Cottage 5 out of 5 across all the scoring categories and for the comments you sent us direct saying how much you had enjoyed your stay. This means a lot to us. There is information in the cottage booklet about what to do if you are too hot or too cold but we will make this more prominent from now on. Thanks again for your other positive feedback. Property Owner

  • "An excellent holiday cottage."

My wife and I on entering the spotlessly clean property were immediately taken by how good the accommodation and facilities were and all set in a beautiful and extremely peaceful location. We would most certainly stay there again as we thought it was also excellent value for money. The location of Barn Cottage is very well placed for visiting both coastal areas and other inland places of interest. We ate in for four evenings and for the other three we went to the Downe Arms which just three miles away in Wykeham, the food was very good and the service from the friendly, helpful staff was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay at Barn Cottage and would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks also to the owners for their diligence in making sure everything was okay for us and leaving a bottle of wine and biscuits etc., which was much appreciated.

  • "We stayed for three weeks."

The cottage is well equipped, especially the kitchen. It was also very clean. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. There was also a bottle of wine and milk on arrival. The location was very quiet. The only thing which could be improved in the future: if you stay for longer, you might miss another wardrobe upstairs.

Property was clean and well equipped with everything you would need as self catering stay. As a runner was great but if possible would benefit from a fixed over head shower. Will definitely stay at this location again if we revisit area. Thanks Tom & Poll
