The property

21 Eskdaleside is a welcoming three-storey house in Sleights, North Yorkshire, offering off-road parking for five cars, an enclosed garden with a hot tub, and space for groups to spread out in style.

Arrive and step inside to find a home arranged for shared holidays, where muddy boots and day bags can be tucked away, and everyone can slip straight into that first-day feeling of being away.

The kitchen/diner becomes the natural hub each morning, setting the scene for easy breakfasts before heading out, and unhurried evening meals when the day’s exploring winds down.

Drift through to the sitting room, where the woodburning stove adds a warming glow to film nights and catch-ups, while the snug provides a second spot for reading, games, or a calmer corner when the house is bustling.

For a burst of friendly competition, the table tennis table is ready and waiting, ideal for teens, adults, and anyone who enjoys a tournament-style holiday tradition.

Across the floors, the bedrooms offer a flexible mix for multi-generation stays and groups of friends, while bathrooms on each level help mornings run smoothly, with freestanding baths adding a touch of occasion at the end of an outdoorsy day.

Outside, the enclosed garden invites long afternoons on the lawn and patio, with a summer house for slower moments and the hot tub for that end-of-day soak, while two well-behaved pets can join in the fun.

A shop sits within easy reach and the local pub is only a short stroll away, making it simple to settle in.

When you’re ready to explore further, Whitby offers atmospheric streets, the famous one hundred and ninety-nine steps, and a harbour lined with character.

Goathland is known for its heritage railway and sweeping moorland walks, while Pickering brings market-town charm with independent shops, historic sites, and access to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Round each day off back at 21 Eskdaleside.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £750.

SLEIGHTS

Whitby 4 miles.

Sleights is ideal for both a coastal and country holiday. Just 4 miles from the picturesque Yorkshire coastline, it is also on the edge of the dramatic North Yorkshire moors country, littered with attractive villages and scenery, which is very popular with walkers and cyclists. Though quiet, Sleights boasts a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop, a butcher's, a bakery, a hairdressers, a Post Office within a Spar shop. The North Yorkshire Steam Railway terminus is a few minutes’ drive with steam trains coming through Sleights, together with regular public transport to and from the nearby port of Whitby. Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire.
