    What is not to love about this luxury apartment? A warm welcome. The total footprint of the apartment is huge, with a bed room the size of a ball room. The finish oozes luxury, with soft, thick carpets in the bed room and living room. Blissfully quiet nights (the bed room is all the way in the back) in a huge comfortable bed. Welcome packages, fruit, soft bath robes All high quality mod cons. Large smart TV with Netflix, Prime. Game consoles incl a selection of games A professional information folder. Private off-road parking. An easy 15 min stroll into the centre of York. And the cherry on the cake: the lovely hot tub in the private back garden to unwind in after a long day out. We will take this apartment any time over a room in the Milner or the Grand. Hope to stay there again.

  • "We had a wonderful long weekend in York, staying at the Blacksmiths Retreat."

    What a wonderful place it is- everything has been so carefully thought through and everything you could possibly want is provided- even down to hair straighteners and styling products! The hot tub was just beautiful. It was lovely relaxing in there and the fairy lights just made it more magical. The host was there to greet us and see us off, and the welcome pack and information was detailed and much appreciated. We would definitely come back and stay here again- the location is perfect in that it’s a 10 minute walk to the Racecourse and the same for the city centre. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful accommodation.

  • "We recently stayed at Blacksmiths Retreat and had a fantastic experience."

    The host was there to meet us on arrival and took the time to talk us through everything we needed to know about the property. They also gave us some great recommendations for nearby places to eat and local walks for our dog, which was really appreciated. The property itself was brilliant, very comfortable, well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was a wonderful touch and made the trip feel even more special. We were also impressed by the comprehensive welcome pack, which contained plenty of useful information about the accommodation and local area. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would not hesitate to return or recommend Blacksmiths Retreat to others.

  • "This property was fantastic."

    It had everything I could possibly need and then some. Such a well appointed house but quirky too. My favourite part was the decking. Such a lovely place to sit out and the hot tub was brilliant

  • "Blacksmiths retreat is a brilliant base for touring York."

    Rich met us at the property and walked us through it. Gave us ideas on where to go and the walk round the race course. The property is spotless very homely and has everything you need. The hot tub is an added bonus. We hope to go back soon.

  • "Outstanding accommodation with everything thought out carefully, down to a bank to charge your phone while out."

    A beautiful welcome pack and milk and bottles of water ready for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was such a luxury after a long day walking. They even supply robes and slippers what a lovely touch. Every item in the kitchen and thru out the property were high end products. Cant praise the owners enough .. will definitely be back

  • "Blacksmiths had everything needed for a restful and enjoyable break."

    My thanks to the hosts for their welcome pack and their thoughtfulness, they couldn’t have been more helpful. The property is ideally placed, with the station, bus stops, cafes and shop all within a short walk.   • "Blacksmiths retreat was fantastic."

    It was beautiful, spotlessly clean and had everything I needed for my holiday. It was much larger than expected and I believe I was the first to stay following it's refurbishment. From the welcome pack through to the relaxing and private courtyard and hot tub area it was perfect. It was only a 5-10 minute walk from York train station and 15-20 minutes from York Minster and the town centre. I will definitely be back.
