  • "Just returned from our holiday at The Nook, everything was perfect."

Great communication from the owners both before, during and after our holiday. The apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean, furnished to a high standard and very much home from home. Set in a quiet community setting but within easy reach by car of all the local attractions. Fantastic base to explore the surrounding area. Had a great week and hope to return.

The owners equipped apartment with everything from washing liquid, kitchen roll to beautiful soft towels and lovely bedding and even board games. Amazing facilities. They thought of everything. Owners very pleasant and friendly on arrival to hand over keys. Very helpful. Located in a quiet but friendly town. We met lots of nice people who stopped to say hello. Fantastic stay.

This special find was perfect for us as we had been shielding for 5 months and in need of a change of scenery in a part of the country we love. The apartment itself is stunning, showroom condition with all you could ask for and more. Gary the host met with us on arrival to show us around and explain how things work etc, and was at the end of the phone or just 10 minutes away if we needed him(which we didnt). Absolutely brilliant place to stay and would recommend to anyone, the best place we have stayed and will definitely be back. Thank you Gary and Yvonne

  • "We were welcomed by a friendly and helpful host to the Nook."

It was well equipped with everything you might need and beautifully decorated. The living room was very comfortable and had a smart TV which we found very useful! Although the property is new and has double glazing, it is right next to a road, which although small, was fairly busy. So there was some traffic noise which made it slightly less than peaceful, especially with the construction on nearby new properties starting at around 6.30am (but I do live in the countryside so this probably wouldn't be a problem for some people). I also found the bed was hard, although this is a matter of preference, and my friend who I was with found her bed fine - we did however both find the pillows to be uncomfortable.

About the location

Inverness 3.9 miles; Cawdor 10.7 miles; Nairn 13 miles

Three miles east of Inverness is the village of Culloden in Scotland, famed for being the site of the Battlefield of Culloden, the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745 on Culloden Moor. Today the National Trust for Scotland has a visitor centre which is a popular tourist attraction, which hosts an interactive battle experience with an immersion film battle room. The village was originally made up of estate houses surrounding the Culloden House, but is now home to several holiday homes. Located in Culloden Woods is ‘Clootie Well’ where brightly coloured rags are hung as offerings from those wishing to be cured of ailments. The Cairns of Clava are also close by; a group of Bronze Age burial mounds.
