  • "How is it possible to beat perfection?"

This cottage is probably the best of all we have ever stayed in. Holly and Grant are brilliant hosts nothing is too much for them. The cottage is so homely with beautifully decorated rooms. There are many superb examples of Holly's skill in all aspects of crafting which adds to the charm of the cottage. There is nothing that is excluded from the equipment in the cottage. Everything has been thought of to ensure the holiday was so enjoyable. It was very difficult to say goodbye to this property, however we look forward to returning if and when there is a vacancy.

Oh wow, thank you so much for your fantastic feedback, I really appreciate it. I put my heart and soul into the cottage and it is so nice when customers respond like you. Thank you Kriss, it was a pleasure to meet you and you are welcome anytime. Holly x Property Owner

  • "Perfect - just perfect!"

Fabulous cottage in a great location to explore Northumberland. It’s not often that you get a holiday cottage of this calibre. The owners have genuinely thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as they possibly can. The cottage is warm, very cosy with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We enjoyed two weeks there and can’t wait to go back. The owner (Holly) is very welcoming and goes out of her way to ensure that her guests are happy. We looked at the visitors book while we were there and there are so many repeat guests which proves what a great property this is. Thank you Holly, we had a fabulous time!

Having a full-sized freezer and fridge was excellent - and not so common in holiday lets, I've found. It is a gem, and Holly is a delight. I hope to return. Special shout out for the local produce welcome hamper, this really is the way holiday homes should be operated.

  • "Lovely cottage with everything we could possibly need."

The extras such as the excellent welcome hamper and washing pods, tea and coffee were a nice surprise. We also appreciated the decoration especially the home crafts. There were instructions for everything except the heating and although we managed to sort this, instructions would have been helpful. Great location for visiting Alnwick, the coast and inland. We would definitely stay again and recommend.

Thank you for kind comments and I shall take on board the comment about heating. Instructions will be placed in book asap. Thank you Holly Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in a beautiful and secluded area with spectacular views across the countryside."

It is detached from the owner's property next door, giving total privacy, whilst allowing the shared use of the extensive gardens and summer house. The cottage is extremely well appointed, with DVDs, books to read, games, and catering for all culinary needs if you want to cook for yourself. The property is tastefully and beautifully decorated, giving a very modern but homely feel. When we stayed, it was scrupulously clean, which is reassuring in these times. We could not recommend it more.

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
