  • "An absolutely lovely cottage."

    Well equipped kitchen with everything you could need, very comfy beds (feather bedding), a fabulous walk-in shower as well as one over the bath, a great dog-friendly garden and very responsive storage heaters. We love a log fire, but the smoke marks on the chimney and previous comments put us off and to be honest, the heating is so good, we didn't really need it. Lovely beach walks right on the doorstep - either a short scramble over the dunes at the back, or a very easy-access stroll for 2 minutes from the front door. A lovely property.

  • "Good location, just a few minutes walk to the beach, great for dogs."

    Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Only downside was when we lit the fire on our first night the the house soon smelt of smoke, no more fires.

  • "We have had a lovely time at Dunes cottages."

    So much so we booked to stay again next year on day 2! Yes there are some bits that are tired and could do with freshening up, but that being super picky The location is perfect, the garden ideal for those with dogs and kids.

    Lovely and comfortable, lots of space to play with our pooch in the garden and of course, the beautiful beach so close. We forgot to sign the visitors book and to thank the owner for our treats. We hope to be back!

  • "Absolutely loved our stay at Dunes cottage and would love to return one day."

    The location was absolutely perfect - couldn't get any closer to the beach. The welcome pack was gratefully received and the dog treats were a godsend because we had forgotten to pack them. Only 2 very minor complaints; USB sockets would have been useful. Luckily one of our group brought an adaptor, and a bread knife would have been nice. Otherwise a perfect holiday home from home.

  • "A nice well equipped property."

    Only criticisms are the en-suite toilet is very hard to flush and the TV is very small for the size of the room. Apart from that everything ok.

  • "Cottage was nice and comfy but in the summary of information it says it has a DVD player and therefore we took some DVDs up to watch but there was not a player in the cottage."

    This was the only disappointment of the cottage.

  • "This cottage by the sea is the perfect getaway in the lovely seaside village of Beadnell."

    Everything you need is available, from appliances, towels, etc at the cottage, to local ameneties like shops, pubs and watersports. The location is just perfect, and within cycling distance of local villages and amenities. We couldn't have asked for more.

The property

Resting within the coastal town of Beadnell, Dunes Cottage is a fantastic seaside property ideal for a family looking to explore Northumberland.

Park off-road and unpack with ease, making yourself at home in a wonderful open-plan living area.

Boasting an open fire, housed within a bare brick chimney, and a large selection of books, relax in the sitting area and plan the day ahead of you.

Behind the sitting area a kitchen with loads of amenities awaits, one where cooking up a storm is a must, and there is a dining table for guests to enjoy a heart-warming meal at.

Freshen up in the family bathroom before snuggling up in one of the three bedrooms, a king-size that can be set up as a twin, a double and a bunk room.

Outside you will be delighted to find a sitting area and a lawn for your four-legged friend to enjoy.

The property is only a short walk from the beautiful sandy beach, a fantastic spot for seaside walks, wild swimming and watersports, and after a day exploring the shoreline you can enjoy a hot meal at one of the local eateries.

There are a selection of countryside walks close to the property, including those at Ebb’s Nook, Beadnell Harbour and Northumberland coast AONB or you can take a glance into the past at Beadnell Lime Kilns.

Further from the property you will find the coastal town of Bamburgh with its fantastic sandy beach and castle.

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
