  • "The cottage was exceptionally clean."

The front garden area was well kept and 2 garden chairs and a small table was provided. The facilities we could not fault, hairdryer and straightener, a vast range of cookwear and utensils in addition to a very easy to use washing machine with outside line and indoor airer. The extra touch of a loaf of bread, tea and milk was also very welcomed. There was also dishwashing liquid, cloths and tea towells. Out and about, dog friendly beach less than 5 minute stroll, harbour and another dog friendly beach approx 15 minute stroll, nearest village pub that served lovely food less than 10 minute stroll, all flat with no inclines. We had a lovely week staying in Primrose Cottage, and the surrounding area was beautiful, Lindisfarne was approx 30 minute drive and Hadrian's Wall took us just over an hour to get to Walltowns Crag. Seahouses was a 5 minute drive and the Fish and Chips in Lewis's were delicious and reasonably priced. We would not hesitate to recommend this property when visiting this gorgeous part of Northumberland

In a good spot for the beach and the pub. We were caught out by the heating being switched off early one night. Got in after 10 to find out there was no heat. Not good on a cold night but apart from that it was fine.

  • "Great Location, however in need of some TLC."

Microwave was rusty, No basic cleaning supplies (No dish cloths,Bin bags , and bin lid did NOT fit on bin). General cleanliness was substandard , thick black dust of skirting boards behind bed , Valance on bed hanging off and filthy, mattress was relatively comfortable, however a spring has gone in the mattress -therefore making it noisy (and therefore needs replacing). Bedroom had an extremely rusty radiator, and a very damp smell. On a positive note there is a full size fridge/freezer which is handy, a washing machine , and a clothes line outside -Plus what looked like new sofas in Lounge (which were very comfortable).

The accommodation was perfect for us, we didn’t have to worry about getting sand all over, the easy clean laminate flooring just swept. Well kept and stocked kitchen, with everything we needed. Outside was fine for our hounds, but if you have a ‘jumper’ the fence wouldn’t be high enough. We didn’t really have warm enough weather to sit outside, but there was table and chairs if needed. The accommodation is compact, but adequate, there was floor space for our two dog beds. All in all a lovely little place and very near to the fantastic beach.

This wasn't a home from home, no ornaments or home comforts, not even a lamp in the living area, we had to put the kitchen light on rather than sit with the main lights on. The bed was very small, it certainly wasn't a double. The bathroom was nice and the shower was lovely. There was milk in the fridge for us and a small loaf of bread which was a nice gesture. The bungalow could do with a make over, new blinds etc, and a few finishing touches.

Primrose Cottage is not a Cottage it felt like an oap bungalow in a residential area. It was a nightmare to find, didn't help that the 7 was missing of the 76, the other number was on the other side and clearly not seen from the road. I was some what disappointed with the cleanliness of Primrose, had to clean dishes and cutlery as there was dried food on them, the cupboards inside were dirty, even found a pair of someone's pants in the washing machine, so much for the apparent deep clean!! On a positive Craster Arms for a meal is a must, beautiful and a very dog friendly place. Will definitely be back to Northumbria just not here!

It was clean n warm once we figured out the heating.Shower good Great to have wifi as phone signal poor. Nice sitting out area but no view . However we were disappointed that it wasnt actually a cottage more like an OAP bungalow and on an estate not actually in the village There wasnt a sign for Primrose Cottage and we didnt know the number so wasted time in the rain locating it . The oven only has 1 shelf so we had to use a trivet as a second one.Decor a bit dated The bedroom was cramped due to a useless wardrobe ( only one side opened) Made it feel like a caravan bedroom as your head was up against the side of the wardrobe and the shelf on the wall strange height and wobbly A bit more thought in the bedroom would easily make it more comfortable. Might be a covid thing but would have been useful to know no sponge or washing up brush cling film foil etc in the kitchen We are used to these basics in UK holiday homes but maybe thats changed Just say then we know to bring them

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
