  • "The cottage was lovely - spacious , well-equipped, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated etc."

One small thing for reference: One of the kitchen cupboard handles came off when I opened it (the one nearest the sink I think)?

It is located close to Spittal seafront and parking outside is no problem. There are nice neighbours and the owners of The Lazy Seal were welcoming and very helpful during our stay

We couldn't fault a thing. If anything, this accommodation far exceeded our expectations. The whole place was far larger than we were expecting and much closer to the beach. the host left us a small hamper to start out holiday including some treats for our pup.

The location was perfect for Spittal beach, a few minutes walk away. A short drive to the A1. We visited Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, etc. A beautiful part of the UK. • "Stayed here as a family with a toddler and small dog."

Apartment is ground floor which made it easier with my toddler and the pram and was so spacious! Highchair and travel cot was provided too we just needed to bring our own mattress for the travel cot and bed linen for it. There was also plastic plates and bowls too and a box of toys so thoughtful which made our stay so much easier. Apartment came with a welcome pack with eggs, bread, milk and chocolate biscuits. There was other additional bonuses too laundry pods, tea/coffee/sugar sachets. Rooms were super comfortable and towels provided. Smart TV in main bedroom and livingroom so you can log into netflix/watch youtube. Log fire and starter pack for the log fire. Location was great the playground and splash park and small arcade was just round the corner right next to the beach. Beach was also dog friendly. 25 minute walk to Berwick where we got the train to Edinburgh. Rooms do get light so the only thing i would add is curtains to make it blackout on top of the blinds and also a mop for any spillages

The location -with Spittal beach just yards away and on the borders of Scotland and Northumberland for days out- is fabulous. Parking for two cars. We had a great holiday. The owner letting us in early and checking in that everything was ok is another big star from us . We highly recommend this holiday home .

The apartment is a home from home. Lovely and clean, very comfortable and very spacious (family of 5 plus our dog). Location of the property is excellent - just across the road from the beach and play park for the kids and lots of walks close by for the dog. Tracey communicated well and was lovely to deal with. We will definitely be booking again!

All the little extra touches made a difference including the welcome pack and Noah’s eggs! The location is great, we were on the beach every morning with the dog, and the neighbours were very friendly. We explored the coast, everywhere was easy to get to from here, and one day we took the train into Edinburgh. Would recommend.

  • "Our stay at The Lazy Seal was great!"

The property was easy to find and easy to access when we arrived. Travelling in 2 cars I was concerned that having no private parking would have been a problem but there was always plenty of parking on the street at all times of day. When we arrived the property was spotlessly clean and included lots of lovely welcoming touches including Halloween sweets for the kids, chocolate bees in the kids room and a chocolate treat in the other bedrooms. As others have mentioned the welcome pack including bread, milk, cereals and Noah’s eggs was much appreciated. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and very reliable, much appreciated with 2 kids with iPads! Some key items that were available at the property but not included on the property listing were nespresso coffee machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap were also provided in the bathroom. There was also a nice collection of toys and books for the children. The location was good with the beach in easy walking distance and the local shop just down the road. We didn’t need to have much contact with the owners but any time we did Tracey was lovely. Would definitely recommend a stay here and we would definitely go back.

  • "The Lazy Seal is in a good location, close to the shop and beach, owners very helpful."

very good tv setup, and comfortable beds. A few minor things that could make it 5 stars. no teapot or milk jug, a coffee table in the lounge would be useful,, could do with a mirror above the bathroom wash basin, or a portable one on the window sill. As we live in a detached house, noise from people above a bit distracting, may not bother some people.

Very clean with everything provided for a relaxing week in immaculate accommodation. Personal touches added make you feel welcome on arrival. Well situated for beaches, walks, castles and surrounding areas. Made to feel part of the community by neigbours and Bailey the lovely Labrador. Thanks Tracey we will certainly be returning. Perhaps a nightlight in children's bedroom on shelves would be an advantage.

  • "Unfortunately it was freezing cold in most rooms, the radiators in some of the rooms didn’t actually heat them."

No heating in kitchen and kids room. The log burner did heat it up but not ideal to rely on that. Temperature gauge on bath didn’t work properly- the water was too hot and couldn’t be turned down. No matches or lighter in the flat so it was a pain to have to go out first night to buy them for the log burner. Flat was exceptionally clean though and looked lovely. No family sized pans for cooking meals.

Thank you for your feedback and naturally we are upset you found some issues. On the situation with the heating there is a thermostat in the kitchen that controls all the rooms along with this you can also turn the heating up in each room on the heaters. There was a lighter left for the log fire but this is kept in the kitchen drawer with the cutlery for safety away from children. There was also a contact number left for any of these issues that could have been resolved very easily if we was contacted. I am pleased to hear you found us very clean and comfortable and am hoping you also enjoyed your hamper, milk, bread, chocolates and bottle of Buck’s Fizz that was kindly left for you to make your self catering experience that little more enjoyable.
