  • "This is a real gem of a cottage kitted out to the highest specs and cleaned to an impeccable standard."

    We've stayed in a few cottages in Northumberland and North Yorkshire and this one is the best one. Situated in a lovely, quiet village with a short and scenic drive away from everywhere you’d want to go, Willow Cottage has everything you need for a fantastic break. Can’t recommend it enough.

  • "Property was as advertised, it was modern and well equipped , great location for exploring the Area, nice touches by the owner with milk, tea and coffee on our arrival plus a bonus bottle of wine and nibbles ."

  • "Willow cottage is perfectly situated, in the heart of the countryside but not far from the coast."

    The cottage itself is tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. The owners have thought of everything you would need of for a short break away. My youngest was bowled over to find a big box of Lego to play with. We just need to work out now when we can visit again.

  • "Willow Cottage was delightful, so clean , comfortable and tidy, the decor was beautiful and it was extremely well equipped, the welcome pack was a nice touch."

  • "The cottage was lovely."

    Everything was immaculately clean. The bedrooms were large and had lots of storage with lovely furniture and fittings. As the weather was nice the outdoor seating area was well used, it was private and very comfortable.

  • "Our stay in Northumberland was a lovely week mainly because off Willow cottage, it was just like home from home the facilities were top class and exceptionally clean absolutely no issues whatsoever, the welcome pack was a lovely gesture and much appreciated."

    Longhorsley is a great base to explore Northumberland with a nice welcoming pub and quaint village shop. It goes without saying we’ll definitely be back hopefully in your lovely cottage once again thanks Julie for our lovely stay. Ps George our little dog felt at home as well.

  • "Fabulous cottage, equipped to a high standard, clean and comfortable."

    Friendly and helpful owners, who left a thoughtful welcome pack for us on arrival. Village is lovely, local pub is friendly with good food, and there’s also a small shop nearby. Handy walks just over the road. We had a super week, there’s so much to see and do - would love to come back. Thanks to Julie and family x

  • "Absolute gem of a cottage."

    Extremely well presented throughout. Everything you will need for your stay is provided. Beds very comfortable and bathroom provides choice of freestanding bath or shower. Julie and family live next door but are not invasive, but welcomed us on arrival. Welcome basket a lovely touch and the dog was catered for with treats and dog bed. Well done to you all!

LONGHORSLEY

Rothbury 9 miles; Alnwick 14 miles.

The pretty village of Longhorsley sits at the heart of rural Northumberland, between the Cheviots and the coast and provides great access to a range of great walks and cycle routes. The village offers a local pub serving good food, and a local store. The bustling village of Rothbury lies just 9 miles to the west, nestling between the Simonside and Lordenshaw Hills with the River Coquet meandering through the centre. Brinkburn Priory is a pleasant, short drive away - a restored Augustinian Priory in a most lovely setting beside the River Coquet. On the outskirts of Rothbury is the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens, whilst the Heritage Coast with its many grand, historic castles and miles of golden sandy beaches is just 20 minutes’ drive to the east. The historic town of Alnwick, with its magnificent castle and garden, lies just 14 miles to the north and is a great day out for all the family. With the spectacular National Park also within easy reach, this is the perfect spot for exploring Northumberland or taking a relaxing break!
