  • "The downside of this property was the presence of CCTV cameras outside the house which hadn’t been mentioned in the property description."

There was a feeling that Big Brother was always watching. Also the neighbours were very noisy - playing music and singing to 5am one morning. On the plus side the welcome pack was brilliant with treats included for the dog.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Borders Cottage."

The cottage was very well equipped and maintained, in a nice, peaceful location. Yes, the en-suite shower could be a bit slow to drain but the bike store and the washing machine proved invaluable after a couple of wet days spent cycling and walking. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

  • "The cottage was spacious inside and was fitted out to a modern standard, with all the facilities we needed and more."

It was a nice to find some welcome gifts of food and drink on arrival, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Externally, there is a private garden area, which had great views of the surrounding area and provided ample space for both the family/dog to enjoy. Makes for a great base to explore the surrounding area from.

Came with my partner, mum, two children and dog for my 30th birthday and it was a gorgeous place. Would definitely come back and recommend.

  • "Well equipped."

Obviously a lot of thought went into what visitors need. We preferred the chairs with backs to the benches at the table and that freed a bench to act as a table in front of the settee. It's a lovely setting. Lanton is a delightful village, lovely cottages and gardens to admire and much entertainment to be had in the notices at the old bus stop. Some serving spoons and an extra veggie bowl for the table would have been icing on the cake.

  • "Lovely house with particularly nice bedrooms , especially the main bedroom ."

Welcome pack provided Modern facilities and smart tv in every room is great Wifi very good Kitchen is extremely small so only one person can be in at a time . Although lots of things left for our dog I wouldn’t choose to come here again with my dog . The dog can’t go upstairs and nor can the dog be let off the lead anywhere on property grounds or surrounding areas due to farmers fields . Fine if you have a small / old dog but if you have a springer like me then lead walks don’t really do . I would return to this property but not with my dog .

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Borders Cottage and would definitely recommend it to anyone."

It is tidy, cosy, warm and clean. The rooms are all very nice and enjoyable to be in. The garden is steep, but lovely and big, and includes really dog safe fencing, and nice outdoor seating. And views. We loved the welcome food basket in the kitchen, so thoughtful, and the electric candles in the living area were fun to have, too. It's peaceful here, as well, not much traffic noise in the garden.

Couple of minor points - there was only half a toilet roll in each bathroom with no spares, and 1 dishwasher tablet. We went out to buy both and it would have been nice if there'd been a little more. That's all though, it was otherwise great!
