    "The location of this property is perfect, it's so quiet but still close enough to A1 to make exploring Northumberland easy."

    The rooms are large and the beds are comfy. The owner provided us with plenty of information about the property prior to arrival and they provide a lot of the essentials you need for a self catering break such as tea bags, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. The hot tub came in handy for post exploration relaxing, the sun shines in the back garden all afternoon and it's not overlooked which is a bonus.

    "We stayed for a week in this fantastic property and very much enjoyed our time here."

    The location is fantastic being close to lots of major attractions in Northumberland and only 4 miles from Alnwick. We were able to walk down to the beach and you can even sea the sea from the kitchen window! The house itself was very comfortable and felt like a home from home. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was a highlight and we made good use of it in the evenings to relax after a day of sightseeing. Communication with the owner, Bev, was fantastic leading up to our stay and during. Would highly recommend this place and we very much hope to return in the future.

    "This is a very nice, spacious bungalow with excellent facilities - good for someone with mobility issues (although steps at front and back doors)."

    It's an exceptionally quiet neighbourhood on the edge of the village, with a 20-minute walk through farmland down to the beach. There were one or two minor issues re cleanliness and equipment, but nothing to spoil a really enjoyable holiday in a great holiday cottage.

    He property was not as advertised so many maintenance issues was unacceptable but nobody is interested in discussing the situation which is so disappointing and very poor Maintenance issues definitely put a dampner on our much looked forward to stay as family get together for birthday celebration very disappointed and felt below standard and not very good value

    Hi Collette, thank you so much for your feedback. I can't apologise enough for the hot tub and dishwasher not working during your stay. The dishwasher was brand new and had teething/ fitting issues which I resolved on the day you left as requested. Similarly the hot tub developed a fault on the first day of your stay. As you know I tried everything to resolve this for you during your stay and in the end you asked me to leave it until you had departed, as you didn't want anyone to enter the house whilst you were not there and was finding sorting a mutually convenient time distressing. I also was very disappointed to hear that there were things missed in your pre stay cleaning. I complained to my cleaning company straight away and they have since dismissed this cleaner, so I hope the problem won't recur. I'm so sorry that Sykes didn't reply, but I don't use them for property management, only the initial booking. I replied to all your messages promptly and was very responsive to the issues and tried hard to find solutions. I pride myself on being a contactable host and doing everything I can to improve peoples stay. I also care a lot about the house as it's my personal and much loved holiday home too, so I always seek to keep it in good, cared for condition. I always appreciate any feedback as then I can improve the house and the stay for the next guest.     "This is a wonderful cottage in a brilliant area."

    The facilities are great, it was presented in a very clean condition, with everything you would need, plus a glorious hot tub. There is a superb beach in walking distant and you are in the middle of some of the best of the Northumberland coast. You can get to Newcastle, Durham or Edinburgh by car or train if you want to. We had a brilliant holiday.

    "Had a lovely week here with our family."

    Plenty of room for us all, hot tub was a lovely bonus, kids played in the garden area. The only thing we struggled with was the rubbish bin, the previous occupants had nearly filled the main bin, so we had to use separate bin bags and leave them at the side of the bin, but not sure if this was because bins are collected fortnightly in some areas, so hope it all got taken away the day we left as it was bin collection day. All in all a lovely quiet place to spend time, and very easy to get around and visit the surrounding area.

    "Really great property."

    Beautifully decorated, lovely comfortable lounges, everything we needed was there. Kitchen was stunning, so easy to use with quality kitchen appliances and cookware. Easy access once inside, two steps at front door quite easy to negotiate with walking sticks. Lovely quiet area, space for two cars on drive and within easy reach of lots of places to visit. It's hard to think of any improvements. Maybe a welcome pack of local products and info on local areas. ( Owner does send you information via WhatsApp and is very easy to reach). Really lovely stay ☺️

    "This property is exactly as described, set in a quiet cul-de-sac and only a 20 minute walk to the beach through wonderful countryside."

    The kitchen is well equipped, beds were comfortable and the whole place is very spacious. Fantastic large hot tub which was cleaned in the middle of our week too. The owner was readily contactable and responded swiftly to any questions or queries .Wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Also the Running Fox cafe/ shop was a wonderful place to eat or purchase bread cake etc only 5 minute walk away

    "We had a lovely week staying at The Croft."

    The property was perfect and had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was brilliant before we arrived. Location is great, 20 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes in the car to Alnwick and not far from other locations. The hot tub is an excellent addition, especially after long walks during the day. The sun room was beautiful to sit in and read. The area is quiet and is perfect for relaxing and having some time out. We would definitely book again at The Croft.

    The location is perfect - Longhoughton Beach is walkable, it's just a short drive to Alnwick, and also well placed for visits to all the other wonderful places along the Northumberland coast. The property itself was very comfortable - plenty of space for the whole family, very comfortable beds, and a great hot tub to help you relax at the end of the day. Communication from the owner before arrival was great - all info needed for the property and local area was provided. Overall, it was a great stay and we'd happily stay at The Croft again.

    Only a short drive to Alnwick and all it has to offer, and in easy range of Bamburgh and the beautiful Northumbrian coast and hills. A great base with lovely facilities to return to and relax at the end of the day.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby.
