  • "We had such a lovely stay at Eastfield with our family including my elderly parents."

The property was ideal for all our needs and the adjustments for disabilities had been really well thought out. The views from Eastfield are unbeatable with a quiet beach on the doorstep. Perfect! Sorry we forgot to write something in the guest book on leaving.

A very well equipped kitchen, great outdoor space and secure garden for storage and dogs. We have already booked again for next year! Thank you to the team who look after it.

  • "Eastfield was recommended to me by a friend that goes there every year and believe me I can see why."

The place itself is absolutely beautiful not one thing I could say was wrong. It was beautiful in every room but in particular down stairs in the adapted bedroom where I stayed to wake up every morning with the breath taking view made me so happy. Will be booking again for definite.

  • "This is a well-equipped and well-maintained property with stunning sea views and immediate access to the beach and Dunstanbrough castle."

We went with our two daughters, their husbands and two grandchildren. Three cars can be parked on the front area of the house, which is important as there is no near on-road parking. The local pub is a step away and serves lovely meals. Altogether, it was a great location for our holiday and we would definitely re-book.

Only criticism was very hot in bed with sheets that were used and very light in bedroom very early morning!

  • "The cottage had obviously been decorated at some point this year as not only were all the spotlights in the kitchen left hanging out of the ceiling but the outside bins were stuffed to overflowing with paint tins and packaging meaning that we had to transport rubbish offsite to avoid further issues."

The cottage itself was dirty - particularly the kitchen. Cupboard fronts were coated in old spills and the worktops and floors all required cleaning at the start of our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful position but needs to have more attention paid to its upkeep given the premium rate it charges.

  • "The property is in a lovely location and we have stayed here before."

However, this time, the first thing we noticed on arrival was that the floor in the main living and dining area and kitchen was very dirty. It had clearly not been swept - sand, dirt, hairs and, in the kitchen, crumbs and mess. The counter tops in the kitchen still had crumbs and mess on them too and even the surfaces did not look as thought they'd be touched. We arrived late to our booking, arriving on the Sunday instead of the Saturday. I tried calling the office to complain but there was nobody available and only live chat on the website which didn't work due to the poor signal in the property. So we cleaned ourselves for about 2 hours. I then tried calling again on Monday morning to complain but the line was busy for ages and as our friends were arriving, we gave up. It's so disappointing when you arrive at a property and it is not clean - such a dismal start to a holiday. We really expected more.

  • "The views from, and the location of, this property are stunning."

We have visited 3 times but this will be our last. The facilities provided for a disabled guest are great IF they are happy sitting in their wheel chair or in the bed in the adapted room (which can be cold in the winter months). The seating in the main room is particularly uncomfortable for anyone with mobility problems and insufficient for a 'full house' ie 8 guest. The weather this year meant we spent more time indoors and the lack of somewhere comfortable to sit spoilt the holiday somewhat.

The location is fantastic with on site parking and the views are to die for. So easy to access the beach and the pub which serves the most amazing crab sandwiches! The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well maintained. A winner for us all round!

It is well equipped, clean and very comfortable. It is ideal for dog owners because the beach and coastal paths are just meters away. This was our third stay at the property and we will definitely return. The only thing I would change would be to have a BBQ in the garden.

  • "This is our second visit."

The property is stunning and in the best location. It has everything in you could need. It is absolutely beautiful! In regards to cleaning both last time and this we spent around 3 hours when we first arrived cleaning. I appreciate that the there is only a certain amount of time on the hand over days for cleaning, and on first look it looks great, however especially with Covid still around all touch points, chairs, shower handles, hand rails etc need to be thoroughly cleaned so people keep safe. The cloths we were using were filthy. Using one mop to clean all areas of the house isn’t hygienic. Also both the couch and the blue over covers on the bed are filthy and covered with dog hair which not great when you are getting into bed! That said I am aware of the lack of time the two ladies have when coming in to clean. And on the surface the property does look smart and clean. Thank you Yvonne

  • "Our fourth stay in this lovely property."

I spoke about it to a man on the beach and he later knocked on the door and was shown around. He was staying in another property and was going home early as no one was sleeping at all well. We all slept like logs. Several of our guests spoke of how cosy their beds were. Looking forward to our next stay!

Every time you walk into the lounge your breath is taken away by the views. It is something you never tire of. The stars are so beautiful at night. Living in a city I have never seen anything like it. I absolutely love staying here and would recommend it to anyone. The only request I would have is for a gate between the back garden and the side of the house to prevent the dog escaping! Thank you once again for a lovely relaxing break by the sea.

  • "Fantastic property, views and location for our family of 7."

As dog walkers it was perfect for heading north or south on the Northumberland costal path as it goes right by the property. The property is also very well appointed and off road parking for 4 cars helped! The property is within easy reach of Alnwick and Seahouses etc. The sunrises were amazing and with little light pollution in the area night time skies were amazing. We will be back!

  • "Eastfield enjoys a spectacular location overlooking, and with easy access to, the beach."

There are gorgeous, and ever-changing views towards Dunstanburgh Castle from the living and kitchen areas, as well as the large double bedroom. The house is extremely well-equipped, and mostly, when you need something practical (eg a light bulb, a sewing kit, a measuring tape, a pair of scissors or screwdriver..) you will find it in the labelled boxes. There is also a selection of books and board games. The kitchen has just about everything you could need - though we would have liked a tea cosy and maybe a slightly smaller cafetiere! It is nice to be provided with more crockery, cutlery and glassware than strictly necessary for the number of people - don't have to wash up quite as often! It is a perfect house for anyone with mobility problems, as an annexe, equipped with adjustable bed and hoist as well as a large walk-in wet room - with wheelchair suitable for taking in the shower, is accessed via a ramp from the garden. In the living room, the window table is perfect for jigsaws - also provided. Underfloor heating and good insulation makes for a very comfortable temperature throughout the house. We were there during the extremely cold and blustery winds, as well as snow flurries caused by Storm Ciara, but indoors we kept cosy all the time. There is a good supply of hot water for baths and showers. The warm utility room is great for drying clothes and shoes quickly too. This is an ideal house for a gathering of family and/or friends of different ages and mobility. (If you need to take a vehicle right down to the beach for an elderly person, there is a disabled space at the bottom of the road. We also didn't have a problem driving her right to the door of the Ship for a pub lunch!

  • "We had a wonderful week in this beautifully-renovated house."

The views are spectacular from living room and the three double bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen and utility room. Overall temperature was perfect, even when freezing outside. It's a great house for an elderly person or couple with limited mobility as bedroom, living area and bathroom/wet room all on one level. We will miss the view, and can't wait to come back!! ( Superb friendly pub and microbrewery two minutes walk away is a huge plus point. Food was delicious there!)
