  • "This was our second stay at Robin House this year."

The property is very comfortable and well equipped .The owners thought to put on the overnight heating which was greatly appreciated considering the weather we had when we first arrived. The secure garden was great for our little dog to go out in . The property is also in a great location for getting up and down the coast .

Thank you for your feedback Anita. We really appreciate your thoughtful remarks and great comments. We do always aim to provide an excellent experience for guests. Property Owner

  • "Parking is awkward as house is in a narrow cul de sac."

Cleanliness was good. Garden needs attention. Kitchen appliances all good. Shower is not good on both pressure and heat settings. Bath is very deep to enter for access to shower and can be a problem for people with any mobility problems. Bottle of bubbly and chocolate is a nice touch. Position of property is good for all attractions.

Thank you for the feedback and your appreciation of the high standard of cleanliness and house facilities welcome gift of bubbly and chocolates! Parking as stated in the online house details is available at the end of the cul de sac visible from the lounge window on a first come first served basis. This is the first time in 4 years that a comment of concern about parking has been made. The garden which is mostly low maintenance to avoid untidiness will be tidied. The shower on occasion has lower water pressure due to the low pressure of water in the vicinity of the house. Property Owner

  • "Found the cottage decor and furnishings tired and very dusty, lots of cobwebs along ceilings especially in living room, dust along all picture frames and mirrors."

Separate toilet with no hand basin frustrating. Bed was comfortable and clean. We had to wash all cutlery before use. Nice touch of arrival present. No blinds on bedroom windows so had to keep closing curtains when in bedroom. Curtains in main bedroom so thin it was daylight at about 6.30am so no sleep after that.

Thanks for booking Robin House. Glad you liked the arrival present. All dishes and cutlery are washed in the dishwasher on a high temperature and full cycle. The furnishings are all new. Property Owner

It’s spacious, warm and very clean with a secure garden for the pup. All the main rooms have large sunny windows even in February. Well situated to explore Bamburgh’s stunning beach, Seahouses harbour, Alnwick, Holy Island, Amble, Druridge Bay Country Park, Craster for the smokehouse and Berwick on Tweed.

Thank you very much Kath for the great review! We try very hard to make sure that everything is in place for our guests. My husband deserves the credit this time he went and stayed in the house to get it nice and warm and the garden and house sorted early February. Property Owner

It has a very well equipped kitchen which is a good size, a lovely big window and even a dishwasher. There was bags of hot water and the whole place was lovely and warm even in the depths of winter. The beds are comfy, the whole house has lots of natural light and has a spacious feel. We would definitely stay here again.

We really appreciated the enclosed garden so our dog was free to go outside without us worrying about her 'escaping'! Also liked the view of the bird feeders from the kitchen. Mrs Joan Lyon, the owner, is very approachable, friendly and helpful with advice. There is a local pub, restaurant and spa within few minutes walking distance plus a small village shop. Seahouses and Belford offer a Coop. Alnwick a short drive down the A1 offers you a larger selection of shopping facilities. Bamburgh offers coffee shops and it?s beautiful beach for all members of your family especially our four legged members. The beach, sand dunes and sea offer a dogs paradise. There are many local villagers and bigger towns to visit from this ideal base. Plus Edinburgh is only an hour and half drive up the A1.

The house took a bit of finding as the sign 'Robin House' is actually on the side of the house and not at the front, which would have been easier to see. The house itself was very clean and the bed we used, in the main bedroom, was very large and comfortable. We had a bit of a problem using the shower as the temperature kept changing but we managed. Wifi was very good. The kitchen was quite well equipped but it would have been useful to have a washing up bowl as the sink plug didn't fit very well and the water kept draining out. Apart from that everything was fine.

We had had some difficulties with the snow and did manage to get stuck but once the AA had freed us we were so happy to be welcomed by this adorable little house! It was warm and so comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Robin House is as clean as a new pin, and very well kept. We slept very soundly in the very comfortable spacious beds and woke up to lovely views from the windows. The owners are amazingly helpful should you need any guidance for anything and very kind, We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates!! We were there in February and didn't have many warm days but I can see that it will be a hot spot in the summer when you'll be able to sit outside in the garden! It is quite central to lots of places if you have a car and there are plenty of lovely walks should you be on foot. A big help for me personally was that I could take my dog too. This little village has an amazing pub The Apple that welcomes you and your dog! They have lovely meals and are very friendly. There is also a Spa, a Pizzeria and a Village Shop. We visited many places around and about ie. Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Alnwick, Alnmouth, Amble, Craster and in all of these places found pubs and coffee shops were dog friendly. Robin House is a great place, in a lovely village and in a good spot for visiting elsewhere. What more could you want?!

Lots of bird life. Its position to visit the beautiful Northumberland coast for bird life and seals and beyond is fantastic. Plenty of walking and cycling. The large windows allowed us to watch mermeration of starlings most evenings if we were back at sunset. The pub in the village was clean and friendly offered a good local ale and excellent food would recommend the seafood platter. There is a lovely spa in the village but you would need to do some research before you go. It is associated with a holiday complex in the village so there are conditions to its use but needs pre booking. There is an alternative in Sea Houses with different facilities which we found very welcoming and comfortable. We visited in February so was quiet enough for us to take out time with everything we did. Would most certainly return as we all came home refreshed and content.
