  • "The property was in a great location for us to explore Northumberland; especially as it was so near to the coast."

In terms of facilities, it had everything we needed and was nice to come back to after a day walking. We really appreciated the enclosed garden so our dog was free to go outside without us worrying about her 'escaping'! Also liked the view of the bird feeders from the kitchen. Would recommend as a nice base from which to explore the surrounding areas.

The property could do with a hairdryer. Great value, location and spotlessly clean.

I contacted the guests and told them about extra heaters before they arrived. The heating was turned on the evening before their arrival. There is a hair dryer in the dressing table of the main bedroom. Property Owner

The house itself felt spacious and clean, with very comfortable beds and good quality appliances. It would be nice to have a chest of drawers in each bedroom, as there was only hanging space in the cupboards. A second set of crockery would be useful too. Otherwise, it was ideal.

  • "Northumberland is a cosy, warm and well equipped home from home which we would highly recommend."

It is ideally situated within easy reach of our beautiful Northumbrian coast line and countryside. The back garden offers a quiet relaxing area for watching the local wide life. Mrs Joan Lyon, the owner, is very approachable, friendly and helpful with advice. There is a local pub, restaurant and spa within few minutes walking distance plus a small village shop. Seahouses and Belford offer a Coop. Alnwick a short drive down the A1 offers you a larger selection of shopping facilities. Bamburgh offers coffee shops and it?s beautiful beach for all members of your family especially our four legged members. The beach, sand dunes and sea offer a dogs paradise. There are many local villagers and bigger towns to visit from this ideal base. Plus Edinburgh is only an hour and half drive up the A1.

  • "We enjoyed our break in Northumberland and Lucker is quite well placed to get to most places."

The house took a bit of finding as the sign 'Robin House' is actually on the side of the house and not at the front, which would have been easier to see. The house itself was very clean and the bed we used, in the main bedroom, was very large and comfortable. We had a bit of a problem using the shower as the temperature kept changing but we managed. Wifi was very good. The kitchen was quite well equipped but it would have been useful to have a washing up bowl as the sink plug didn't fit very well and the water kept draining out. Apart from that everything was fine.

The owner was extremely helpful by providing added tips to help us on arrival and to make the most of our time there. The location is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast. The amenities in the cottage are very good, all the appliances (Washing machine, tumble dryer etc.) are of high quality and although we didn't need them, manufacturer's instructions for the use each appliance are carefully provided. Cleanliness was of a high standard and the bed in the main bedroom is not only vast, it is extremely comfortable. A real bonus is the garden which is a good size and fully enclosed making it safe for our dog. Parking is not a problem, there is plenty of room to park and unload as well as a handy car park within about 30 yards. All in all a really good visit and we would highly recommend Robin Cottage.

  • "I would recommend anyone to have a holiday at Robin House, Lucker!"

We had had some difficulties with the snow and did manage to get stuck but once the AA had freed us we were so happy to be welcomed by this adorable little house! It was warm and so comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Robin House is as clean as a new pin, and very well kept. We slept very soundly in the very comfortable spacious beds and woke up to lovely views from the windows. The owners are amazingly helpful should you need any guidance for anything and very kind, We were also greeted with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates!! We were there in February and didn't have many warm days but I can see that it will be a hot spot in the summer when you'll be able to sit outside in the garden! It is quite central to lots of places if you have a car and there are plenty of lovely walks should you be on foot. A big help for me personally was that I could take my dog too. This little village has an amazing pub The Apple that welcomes you and your dog! They have lovely meals and are very friendly. There is also a Spa, a Pizzeria and a Village Shop. We visited many places around and about ie. Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Alnwick, Alnmouth, Amble, Craster and in all of these places found pubs and coffee shops were dog friendly. Robin House is a great place, in a lovely village and in a good spot for visiting elsewhere. What more could you want?!

Lots of bird life. Its position to visit the beautiful Northumberland coast for bird life and seals and beyond is fantastic. Plenty of walking and cycling. The large windows allowed us to watch mermeration of starlings most evenings if we were back at sunset. The pub in the village was clean and friendly offered a good local ale and excellent food would recommend the seafood platter. There is a lovely spa in the village but you would need to do some research before you go. It is associated with a holiday complex in the village so there are conditions to its use but needs pre booking. There is an alternative in Sea Houses with different facilities which we found very welcoming and comfortable. We visited in February so was quiet enough for us to take out time with everything we did. Would most certainly return as we all came home refreshed and content.

The location is perfect for the locality, within easy reach of Bamburgh and Seahouses and only a short drive from Lindisfarne.
