  • "The furniture did not match pictures and there is no foot stool anymore."

Only two small towels were provided which we found inadequate if two people shower. The plus is the little corner shop where you can get bacon rolls in the morning and filled rolls if like us like to go for long walks. Are little dog loved the secure dog walking area just up the road.

  • "The location of the property was good, although we found the low ceiling height in places a problem and the sofa was too soft for our ageing bones."

We were disappointed that the owner didn't refer to the planned building work in their hair salon downstairs. This caused disruption across two days of our break.

  • "Lovely little apartment with everything that you need."

Amy is an attentive host who is always just at the end of the phone. Only suggestion I would make is that a basic welcome pack of things to make a cuppa are supplied, as well as at least 1 toilet roll. Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed my week, Longframlington is a beautiful place with what is in my opinion, the best bakery on the planet.

  • "This is a lovely small flat and it suited us perfectly as we love this area for walking and castle history ."

nicely located in a very friendly village with good small businesses. Alnwick , Rothbury and the fantastic Northumberland coastline close by. The flat is small flat but suitable for the two of us with a small dog. The place was spotlessly clean with all mod-cons . Our second stay in this property and I’m sure we will return so can’t recommend better than that.

The apartment is spacious and the bathroom really is surprisingly large! We found everything we needed in a well equipped kitchen. The sofa was a little soft but comfortable. We drank in both pubs in the village and ate at The Granby Inn and would recommend both. Would highly recommend the bakery as well for breakfast!

The location was excellent for our travels exploring the area with Alnwick an easy 10 minute drive away for our visits to the castle and garden, everything was so accessible via the A1. Lovely little corner shop next door, a nice pub with lovely staff and great food just across the road was perfect for us. I would book again when visiting the NE.

  • "Lovely appt."

The only thing that let it down was the carpet in the lounge....huge (2ft diameter) brown stain in the doorway to the bedroom. Very unsightly. Needs sorting. Other than that, great place to stay for a few days to explore the area. Lots to see and do. The Village Inn was friendly and served good beer and food. Corner shop (next door to the appt.) is a well stocked general store. Can recommend Green's butchers, up the road. Very friendly and the rib eye steak I bought from there (along with XL eggs and a large bag of pork scratchings!) was top notch. Just remembered.... couldn't find any dinner plates in the appt. Are there any that I missed? Only found tea plates. Had to pile everything on top of my steak to fit on the plate! Love this area of the country. Will be back.

  • "Report from a previous guest suggested trouble with shower!"

We followed the instructions from the owner and the shower worked OK. Only quibble we had was the noisy lorry traffic on the main road all night. Which of course the owner can do nothing about. Otherwise the facilities were very good and the property very cosy and warm.

  • "This is a lovely warm and cosy flat, in a nice village with good facilites."

It has a few niggles that could easily be put right. The bath towels are the smallest that we have ever come across in a holiday let and we go about 6 times a year. We had ongoing problems with the shower which the owner did come and look at but in the end we gave up after a few ice cold showers. The toilet just kept on running 24 hours a day. The fridge was in desperate need of a defrost and the blinds are very dusty. In the bedroom there is nowhere to put small items of clothing so had to leave them on the floor, a small set of drawers would help. The flat is well equipped but an information book about bins etc would have been useful.

The flat was really comfortable and was just right for our needs, it's great for a couple just wanting to get away for a bit. Amy was always on hand (she owns the salon below) should we have needed anything which was good to know. There is a lot to see and do within a short driving distance of Longframlington and the village has a bakery/coffee shop, pub and grocery store on the doorstep. The Village Inn has good food and ales, very friendly too. If we return to Northumberland then we would definitely look at booking again.

  • "Lovely cozy apartment just right for our needs."

With darker nights closing in, views and outdoor space is not as necessary as in the summer, With so much to see in Northumberland this is ideal for a couple, with or without a four legged companion. With a shop, newsagents, bakery/tea shop, butchers and 2 pubs/restaurants in the village, you do not have to drive for your supplies and needs. Although parking is limited on the roadside, it is not usually an issue, especially in the evening.Would definitely return if looking to visit again at a similar time of year.
