Think a heater would be nice on the balcony as there is no sun later on in the day and it’s nice to sit out with the view I also think if they tidied up the wiring on the tv and bought nicer crockery and cutlery etc it woul really fulfill its 5 star rating

"A fabulous place, this was our 2nd yr."
A suggestion for the kitchen a pair of tongs to make getting food out of a frying pan easier.

"Mill View and North Farm are great."
The private paths through the farm to Embleton and the beach make those journeys shorter, safer and easy for families. Our kids loved playing on the field with the goalposts and feeding the ducks at the pond.
Knowing Mill View was an apartment I'd been worried about our kids running about and disturbing our neighbours on the ground floor, so when we arrived and found that it was just the (lovely) pool and the beauty salon on the ground floor that was a massive bonus - no running through the farm in our dressing gowns in the rain!
All these advantages were bonuses we discovered when we arrived so if I were the owners I'd make more of a fuss about them.
The only tiny improvements I'd suggest would be something in the shower to store shampoo etc and some info in the folder about recycling - we just put all our rubbish in the bin and then discovered the communal recycling bins at the end of the holiday.
Overall, a great holiday and we'd be happy to come back.

"This was our second visit to the flat and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time."
It’s comfortable, well equipped and has a fantastic view across the fields and out to sea. There’s plenty of good walking that starts right at the door. Great place for a total relax.

"Lovely well appointed apartment with great views and walking from your doorstep."
Well served locally by cafes restaurants and pubs although the best have to be booked, eg Dunstanburgh Hotel for Sunday lunch and The Potted Lobster at Bamburgh - the latter is one of the best fish restaurants you will come across and needs booking well in advance!

"The apartment is modern, but cosy and very comfortable."
The balcony with its view of the coast is a wonderful luxury. There are some lovely walks nearby, so you don't have to drive anywhere if you don't want to. The indoor pool is also a great thing to have as part of the whole deal. The staff on site (when we saw them) were welcoming and friendly. All in all we had a fantastic time. I'd advise booking early - the area might be an undiscovered gem right now, but I've got a feeling that could change when word gets out! Only one tiny criticism - the smoke alarms can be a bit sensitive when the grill is used. Other than that, I intend going back if I can.

"Mill View was a lovely very clean well equipped flat and the balcony with the view was a great bonus."
It would have been nice to have had a bit more storage space in the 2nd bedroom (one bed had no bedside cabinet at all) and bathroom although I appreciate it may have been due to the spaces available. However I would definitely book the same appartment again.

"During our stay it was 6 degrees and we hadn't any heating."
The radiators were supposed to come on early morning and in the evening. We were very cold.
The two seatees are deep and soft. My husband had to sit on a dining chair to get some comfort. I endured them, but they are very uncomfortable.
On the plus side, the swimming pool is excellent. It's warm, clean and the air temperature is warm.

"Mill View was a brilliant apartment in a superb location - only a 15 minute easy walk to the stunning beach."
The apartment was very clean and finished to a very high standard. Little touches made all the difference - such as beach towels being supplied, well equipped kitchen with all cleaning products supplied, and thoughtful signs down to beach etc. And being on 1st floor made for a great view out to the coast.
Just a couple of things worth pointing out to future prospective holiday makers - there is an interconnecting door between the bedrooms, and the swimming pool was on a rota with each appt having 1 hour per day (at different times each day). This was great to have the pool to ourselves but maybe a 'swap board' would have made even better to know who was / not using their 'slot' each day. As the apartment is directly above the pool, there were a couple of occasions where we could hear the pool users.
But overall, fantastic holiday that we thoroughly enjoyed - would recommend and would likely return ourselves :-)

"A newly built apartment, furnished and equipped to a high standard, with a most wonderful view from the lounge and balcony across fields to the sea."
We loved watching the changing light, and saw some dramatic rainbows. It was lovely to be able to walk from the door along the mowed footpaths to the beach and Low Newton village for crab sandwiches at the pub. It was a great location for exploring up and down the coast. We very much enjoyed the good sized pool on the ground floor on the days we were able to go. Access was on a rota system giving each of the dozen or so units at North Farm exclusive use for their timetabled hour, which varied each day, but some slots were in the middle of the day.
We were very pleased to find the TV had a DVD player, not mentioned on the Sykes listing. We would have appreciated more surfaces throughout the apartment, for example, a coffee table in the lounge, and a small unit in the bathroom for personal toiletries, etc. The changing cubicles at the swimming pool would benefit from benches. We were surprised that there was no microwave, but apart from that the kitchen was the best equipped of any self catering property we have stayed in, with plenty of space for food storage, and a good sized fridge freezer. The beds were comfortable, and there was very generous provision of items such as soap dispensers and even swimming towels.
We had an excellent holiday at Mill View, and would thoroughly recommend it.
