We had a lovely week with our family relaxing and walking and will return again in October. I would suggest that the oven baking trays are getting very old and need replacing but everything else was fantastic.

"A perfect two week break."
The house is large and comfortable, with beautiful, calming views of the rolling Borders countryside. Ever changing skies, green fields, the sounds of birds - and quiet. Lovely long (or short) walks. It is an easy drive to many places of interest, and at the end of the day, as you come up the lane to the house, you are glad to be 'home'. . .. to chop some kindling and start the log burner - not that you need it, because the central heating is efficient, staying cosy within the old thick walls. Jim and Sharon (and other family and neighbours) were just lovely - helpful and welcoming. I would love to come back to see the changes in another season.....maybe autumn, when all the fields and trees would have changed from their Spring colours.
Thank you Harry for your wonderful comments, you described Todlaw so well. We’re so pleased you all felt as if it was like coming home and this is something we really hope everyone does when they stay. Even to enjoy splitting kindles for the fire. You definitely made Todlaw yours. Autumn is a wonderful time-crops off the fields trees changing the leaves and the pond takes on a new life.
We’re delighted that you had such a great relaxing holiday and would love to see you come back
Thank you so much again
Take care

The scenery was breathtaking and we had three days of sitting out for morning coffee and early evening chilled wine and nibbles. Very relaxing and the log fire was such a bonus. Bedrooms were very comfortable and we loved all the extra touches. Would go there again and hope to do so.

"Todlaw Farm House is a gem of a place, which we hope to return to again."
It is a beautiful house, with such a lovely atmosphere, in a stunning, peaceful location. We wanted a break where we could get away from the crowds with our dogs and this place was ideal. The dogs were in seventh heaven with lots of room to play outside - we all loved it, from the amazing sunrises to the beautiful views of the moon over the water, it was like heaven on earth.
Hi we are so pleased you were able to enjoy yourselves, especially coming from a really busy town. We really loved the photos Les took there beautiful, unfortunately Sykes cant use them although we were really keen for them to do so.
However we have added them to our FB page and also said who they were taken by.
But we will use them on our web page when we get it up and going.
The mole man enjoyed his chat with you...What a character he is!
Thank you once again for your kind comments and the description of your stay its so nice

The Jedburgh walk that passed the cottage was also very enjoyable.
Our friends who joined us for new year would come back to the cottage having thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We visited The Canon in Jedburgh, which we would recommend, very friendly landlady and also dog friendly. Can also recommend a short walk from Harestanes visitors centre to The Waterloo monument (Peniel Heugh), can also advise getting the key (£5) from the Lothian Estates office in Bonjedward to gain access to the tower. (228 steps to the top )

It is sufficiently rural to be absolutely tranquil yet close enough to Jedburgh to be very convenient for local amenities.
There are many wonderful places to visit within an hour's travelling time. You only need to be here for one single day to completely forget the stresses of work and that is its most enviable quality.

When you arrive it looks large but as you enter the house you experience the Tardis effect, the place is extremely roomy and well equipped. The welcome pack was astounding with homemade marmalade tray bakes, local cheese, bread and even some treats for the dog. The kitchen has everything you could wish for whilst the living and bedrooms are extremely comfortable. The house sits elevated overlooking a peaceful valley with large gardens There is no traffic noise and it is only a short walk down the bridle path into the town.

The house was wonderful, big, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need or want. The cleanliness was outstanding and all in all we had a terrific time in the Scottish Borders. The owners even provided a really fantastic hamper full of very welcome goodies. The boys (2 small doggies) had also been thought of with a welcome pack of goodies just for them!!
From beginning to end, this experience has fuelled us to have many more breaks. I hope other guests treat this house with respect and love as it is very clear that the owners go out of their way to make sure it is a real home from home.
The views from the property give you a real sense that you are in the countryside. The weather was very kind to us which really was the icing on the cake.

"Todlaw Farmhouse exceeded our expectations."
It enjoys a wonderfully tranquil location with marvellous views yet is within a short distance of the amenities in Jedburgh. It was the perfect location for us. The property is extremely comfortable, tastefully furnished and presented with a high standard of cleanliness. The Welcome Basket of comestibles was much appreciated. It was a delight to sit outside in the evenings looking down on the large pond/small lake below and watching the swifts skimming across its surface and the surface of the neighbouring fields. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked it for a week next May.
It should perhaps be made clearer on the directions that you need to approach the access lane from the Jedburgh direction and not attempt to make a left turn if approaching from the south. This is a minor niggle; it's a tremendous property for those seeking comfort, peace and quiet.
