"Very well equipped, clean, comfortable beds, lovely large secure garden."
Definitely recommend. Based North Sunderland but very short walk into Seahouses. Fabulous beaches. Definitely recommend boat trip to Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle & Grace Darling museum. Tried to book another short break for April but fully booked, we will definitely be back!
Many thanks for your lovely feedback, it is much appreciated. So glad you enjoyed your break. Property Owner

"Lovely property very spacious with plenty of crockery etc ."
Clean and comfortable beds only down side the drive up to the property was very tight as we have a large car
Glad you had an enjoyable time at Sunshine Cottage, unfortunately the access is a little tight but something that can’t be altered due to the position and age of the cottage. Kind regards. Property Owner

"The cottage was spacious and comfortable for the whole party and in a great location and we really enjoyed our stay, however there are some major cleanliness issues that need addressing."
The ensuite bedroom had thick dust and sweet wrappers behind the bedside tables which haven't been cleaned in months, the shower base was thick of crud which i had to clean before using, the place is damp which resulted in us having to keep the building aired throughout our stay as my nephew suffers with Asthma. Inside windows dirty if i could have found some window cleaner they would have been cleaned, the waste bin in the kitchen was thick of dirt underneath the bin bag. We tried to contact Sykes to notify that we would be arriving Saturday due to other family commitments and were unable to, hence the reason for not trying to contact you with the issues raised.

"As always the cottage was cosy warm and comfortable."
It meets all our holiday needs and is well equipped as well as being clean and tidy. It provides us with a base when the weather isn’t kind and the warm utility room meant that we had somewhere to dry our clothes and shoes. Looking forward to our next visit.

"Parking and getting out to the main road was a slight problem but understand that this was out of your control."
On two occasions a red van was parked in the turning space. The heating was a slight problem in as much that our on suite towel radiator only worked when the heating was on. We found a lot of dog hairs on the furniture. The garden was lovely and well kept. The front door was difficult to open and lock. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thanks for a lovely week.

"A fantastic place to stay with everything you could want , we had a great week there ."
-
"Great property with everything we could have wanted, would definitely stay at Sunshine Cottage again."
Only downside is the Friday change-over day, it is the worst day of the week for travelling

"This is our second stay at Sunshine Cottage and we will be back for a third."
The cottage is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and has a fantastic garden for children and dogs. We found the beds and bedding very comfortable, so all slept well. It is in a lovely quiet location within an easy walk to all the amenities of Seahouses. The boiler went off on the Sunday evening during our stay but all was back up and running when we returned Monday lunchtime from our walk, and we had a first call out visit within 45 minutes to assess the issue, so can’t fault the service. The property does need more attention to the general cleaning in a few areas on turnaround days and the hard floor in the living/kitchen area needs a good mop - when cleaning up a drink spillage in the kitchen area on our 2nd day we found it to be very dirty. Overall we enjoyed another great family holiday at Sunshine Cottage, at a good price, so we will be back next year.

"Lovely cottage found it easily even in the dark."
Lovely location. Will be booking again. Rooms spaces. Living area fantastic for family time. Great secure garden. 15 minute walk to Seahouses along a lovely lane without traffic. Lovely hotel bar opposite not open every day but worth a visit when it is. Great holiday
Hi Kirsty, really pleased you had a fantastic holiday and thank you for your positive feedback. Look forward to welcoming you back ! Regards Lynn Property Owner

"On the plus side the cottage is spacious and everything that we used such as heating, TV, built-in appliances, kettle etc worked okay."
The fully enclosed garden was very good. Vehicle access is a bit tight but doable. On the downside, the property is described as being on the outskirts of Seahouses and it just isn't. It's actually towards the outer edge of North Sunderland and definitely not in Seahouses. Sorry to say but we found the cottage to be generally dirty. The bedrooms were musty and damp. Much of the mostly flat pack furniture was old and rickety and even a couple of the kitchen unit doors were very loose and seemed about ready to fall off. The soft furnishings were most uncomfortable being well worn and very tired. The worst aspect though were the travertine floor tiles in the living area which were in an awful state. The tiles were a mass of holes which were full of dirt. Overall we loved the area but were very disappointed with the cottage in its' current state.

"Nice property and well situated for exploring Northumberland."
However , it could do with a deep clean. Kitchen floor was really dirty as we discovered when wiping something off floor. Skirting boards very dirty and dusty and loads of old cobwebs on ceilings. En suite bedroom smelled of dog wee.

"Was disappointed to receive a notice on my car windscreen on Saturday morning ..."
Was disappointed to receive a notice on my car windscreen on Saturday morning when parked at the side of the cottage there is a sign saying 24hr access required what I was blocking I’m not sure but as it was on the cottage we were staying in I assumed it belonged to our cottage

"The drive is tight for larger vehicles, we have a rear wheel drive estate car ..."
The drive is tight for larger vehicles, we have a rear wheel drive estate car and due to the large amount of rain that had fallen the drive was just mud and the car just slid, this wasnt helped as the neighbour opposite has put a fence round their back garden while we were there, and there is a bush in the entrance to the cottage drive which you have to manoeuvre around, this is the only issue we had and apart from this we had an amazing stay at this cottage
Many thanks for your feedback, unfortunately the parking issue is beyond our control. Glad that despite the parking issues you had an enjoyable stay. Property Owner
-
"The parking is really only for one modern car - we had a Vauxhall Mokka which fitted in okay but our daughter has a Kia Sportage didn’t attempt to get in so parked near church ."
Also fridge doesn’t always engage properly all the time and unfortunately when our two year old dropped her book by the coach nearest the bedrooms she she picked up a piece of broken glass . The cottage was comfortable spacious and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much indeed .
Hi, we are glad you enjoyed your time in the cottage, the issue with the broken glass will be taken up with the cleaning staff, we apologise for that. The cottage parking is restricted by the age and location of the property something which unfortunately we are unable to do anything about. Many thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

"Amazing days with family & dog."
Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at your amazing cottage. We will hopefully be back in the spring.
Hi Mr Hogg, so pleased that you enjoyed your short break at Sunshine Cottage. Your feedback is very much appreciated. I hope your next break is every bit as enjoyable. Kind regards, Lynn. Property Owner

"Great cottage,10/10,everything you need, One thing that needs fixed is when it rains there is a very bad leak above the patio door that is causing damage to the property internally."
Being in the building trade upon inspection the patio doors have not been sealed at the top at the small trickle vents where the water is coming in. Easily sealed with silicone to prevent any serious damage to the lovely property, definitely be back10/10,Great place to stay!
Hi, many thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. Thank you for the advice which is being addressed. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"We had a great break, loved Northumberland, loved Seahouses."
Sunshine Cottage is in a great location, 15 minute walk into Seahouses where there are some nice pubs, restaurants and shops. The property has a lovely garden ideal for dogs and children. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possible need. Lounge/dining area was perfect. Bedrooms had comfy beds however there was a damp fusty smell in all the bedrooms. We could not use any drawers or wardrobes in the bedrooms as they all smelled damp and fusty. The duvets in the twin room looked old and dirty. Nice property but it needs some tlc and a good clean.
-
"The property is excellently supplied with everything a family needs."
However one of the bedrooms seemed to appear damp (the double room) and some of the fixtures and fittings have seen better days. However it would not stop us considering coming back to Sunshine Cottage.
-
"A fantastic property - cosy but spacious with a fantastic enclosed garden - perfect for dogs and children."
Well equipped with an excellent location - a gentle 15 min stroll to the centre and beach. Superb restaurant, 1 minute walk away across the road too!
-
"Nice enough cottage with lovely garden unfortunately quite often got smoked out as allotments right next to it."
Access and parking spot very difficult for anyone with a large car. Quite hairy exiting onto main road as unable to see what is coming towards you when turning right Sofa could do with new filling in cushions.
-
"The boiler was quite noisy."
I think the access to the property should have a warning that it is narrow and has angles which would cause problems for medium and large vehicles. Also the property is not visible from the road.
-
"VERY COSY AND CLEAN, NEAR SHOPS AND COAST ROAD."
-
"Lovely cottage in excellent location, enjoying the dog friendly quiet garden as well as beautiful beaches nearby."
Superb walks, fantastic views, just love Northumberland.
-
"Sunshine is a lovely cottage within 1/2 mile easy walking distance of Seahouses."
Being able to sit out on the deck provides a great start and end to a day out exploring the area. Just a few steps so ideal for those less able too!
-
"Lovely and peaceful, cosy (but spacious) cottage with a fabulous garden - perfect for an Easter Egg hunt!"
-
"Absolutely perfect - couldn’t wish for anything more."
-
"The accommodation was well appointed and maintained - clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped."
We very much enjoyed our stay and would think about returning. We had the benefit of the bustling (even in winter) amenities of Seahouses within a 15 minutes walk away and also the peace and quiet of our location.
-
"Well we return every year two or three times so it’s perfect."
Thank you.
-
"Excellent dog friendly cottage, very good and safe enclosed garden and a really good base to explore Seahouses."
-
"Excellent cottage, equipped with everything needed, very spacious and clean."
