  • "Parking and getting out to the main road was a slight problem but understand that this was out of your control."

On two occasions a red van was parked in the turning space. The heating was a slight problem in as much that our on suite towel radiator only worked when the heating was on. We found a lot of dog hairs on the furniture. The garden was lovely and well kept. The front door was difficult to open and lock. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thanks for a lovely week.

  • "This is our second stay at Sunshine Cottage and we will be back for a third."

The cottage is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and has a fantastic garden for children and dogs. We found the beds and bedding very comfortable, so all slept well. It is in a lovely quiet location within an easy walk to all the amenities of Seahouses. The boiler went off on the Sunday evening during our stay but all was back up and running when we returned Monday lunchtime from our walk, and we had a first call out visit within 45 minutes to assess the issue, so can’t fault the service. The property does need more attention to the general cleaning in a few areas on turnaround days and the hard floor in the living/kitchen area needs a good mop - when cleaning up a drink spillage in the kitchen area on our 2nd day we found it to be very dirty. Overall we enjoyed another great family holiday at Sunshine Cottage, at a good price, so we will be back next year.

Lovely location. Will be booking again. Rooms spaces. Living area fantastic for family time. Great secure garden. 15 minute walk to Seahouses along a lovely lane without traffic. Lovely hotel bar opposite not open every day but worth a visit when it is. Great holiday

  • "On the plus side the cottage is spacious and everything that we used such as heating, TV, built-in appliances, kettle etc worked okay."

The fully enclosed garden was very good. Vehicle access is a bit tight but doable. On the downside, the property is described as being on the outskirts of Seahouses and it just isn't. It's actually towards the outer edge of North Sunderland and definitely not in Seahouses. Sorry to say but we found the cottage to be generally dirty. The bedrooms were musty and damp. Much of the mostly flat pack furniture was old and rickety and even a couple of the kitchen unit doors were very loose and seemed about ready to fall off. The soft furnishings were most uncomfortable being well worn and very tired. The worst aspect though were the travertine floor tiles in the living area which were in an awful state. The tiles were a mass of holes which were full of dirt. Overall we loved the area but were very disappointed with the cottage in its' current state.

  • "Nice property and well situated for exploring Northumberland."

However , it could do with a deep clean. Kitchen floor was really dirty as we discovered when wiping something off floor. Skirting boards very dirty and dusty and loads of old cobwebs on ceilings. En suite bedroom smelled of dog wee.

Was disappointed to receive a notice on my car windscreen on Saturday morning when parked at the side of the cottage there is a sign saying 24hr access required what I was blocking I’m not sure but as it was on the cottage we were staying in I assumed it belonged to our cottage

The drive is tight for larger vehicles, we have a rear wheel drive estate car and due to the large amount of rain that had fallen the drive was just mud and the car just slid, this wasnt helped as the neighbour opposite has put a fence round their back garden while we were there, and there is a bush in the entrance to the cottage drive which you have to manoeuvre around, this is the only issue we had and apart from this we had an amazing stay at this cottage

Many thanks for your feedback, unfortunately the parking issue is beyond our control. Glad that despite the parking issues you had an enjoyable stay. Property Owner

  • "The parking is really only for one modern car - we had a Vauxhall Mokka which fitted in okay but our daughter has a Kia Sportage didn’t attempt to get in so parked near church ."

Also fridge doesn’t always engage properly all the time and unfortunately when our two year old dropped her book by the coach nearest the bedrooms she she picked up a piece of broken glass . The cottage was comfortable spacious and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much indeed .

Hi, we are glad you enjoyed your time in the cottage, the issue with the broken glass will be taken up with the cleaning staff, we apologise for that. The cottage parking is restricted by the age and location of the property something which unfortunately we are unable to do anything about. Many thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

Being in the building trade upon inspection the patio doors have not been sealed at the top at the small trickle vents where the water is coming in. Easily sealed with silicone to prevent any serious damage to the lovely property, definitely be back10/10,Great place to stay!

  • "We had a great break, loved Northumberland, loved Seahouses."

Sunshine Cottage is in a great location, 15 minute walk into Seahouses where there are some nice pubs, restaurants and shops. The property has a lovely garden ideal for dogs and children. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possible need. Lounge/dining area was perfect. Bedrooms had comfy beds however there was a damp fusty smell in all the bedrooms. We could not use any drawers or wardrobes in the bedrooms as they all smelled damp and fusty. The duvets in the twin room looked old and dirty. Nice property but it needs some tlc and a good clean.

  • "Nice enough cottage with lovely garden unfortunately quite often got smoked out as allotments right next to it."

Access and parking spot very difficult for anyone with a large car. Quite hairy exiting onto main road as unable to see what is coming towards you when turning right Sofa could do with new filling in cushions.

I think the access to the property should have a warning that it is narrow and has angles which would cause problems for medium and large vehicles. Also the property is not visible from the road.
