  • "This comfortably furnished cottage is in a peaceful location."

    Kitchen had everything needed, comfortable bed. From the garden table just outside kitchen door we enjoyed sunny mornings, sunrise, watching birds. We found Cheshire to be a lovely county to explore; also popped into Wales. Walks from the door- though unfortunately we had no map. On arrival owner texted to check everything was fine. Easy to recommend.

  • "Quaint cottage in lovely quiet rural location handy for visiting our relatives and other interesting locations."

    Accommodation was clean and comfortable if a little compact, but to be expected from this style of old cottage. The beds were comfortable which is important for us especially after a long journey and busy days out. Some visitors with mobility issues may find the steps up to the rear decking to gain access awkward, and it has a fairly steep narrow inside staircase. But for most this all adds to the charm and character of this lovely little house. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and I would recommend this cottage.

    The house is in a great location with lots to do in the surrounding areas. The smart tv is a bonus after a long day out with the children! With the fire roaring and a movie on, it made for peaceful, relaxing evenings!

  • "Had a lovely break at Fountain cottages."

    Proper old world charm in this former Peckforton Estate property, but with all mod cons. More than lived up to the pictures, with an immense enclosed garden which was ideal for the dog. Great walks from the cottage, and excellent eating pubs nearby. Marissa and Ray made sure we were happy, and had everything we needed. Thoroughly recommend.

  • "A great little cottage with beautiful views and so well located for trips to Liverpool, Manchester & N."

    Wales as well as National Trust / English Heritage properties nearer to Peckforton. There are some lovely walks straight out of the cottage gate and the garden is delightful to sit in! The use of the washing machine meant that we took home clean clothes with no laundry to do when we got home! Bonus! We'd stay agif we were in the vicinity. Marisa and Ray were very helpful

  • "This property ticked all our boxes."

    It was well presented and very comfortable in a beautiful setting. It had all the facilities we needed and more. Loved the welcome basket for us and Ruby (our dog).   • "Dirty cottage, full of dirty webs, no toilet paper on arrival had to phone the owner who didn’t think it was an essential need, but they did bring some, no access to the washing machine, freezer or seat pads for outside seating, hardly any kitchen products, travelled all the way from California as just relocated back to the UK and this was a massive let down."

We always strive to give our guests the best possible experience and even with our endeavours to help by attending the property immediately, providing extra bubbly and sorting the issues we were made aware of, we are sorry to hear that this was your opinion.   • "The cottage was even nicer than it looked on the ad, absolutely beautiful, the garden and surrounding countryside was simply stunning, we identified 40 different types of birds in the vicinity via a bird finder app."

    The cottage was very comfortable and the wooden terrace is lovely to eat on when the sun is shining. Would very much recommend to anybody looking for an ambient relaxing break.

  • "The cottage was cozy and brand new lovely decorated."

    The ceilings, the floor, the kitchen... everything has a special touch. Beds are comfortable and, even having one only bathroom, it has a good shower and an amazing bathtub. The owners are a helpful and nice couple who make everything in their hands for you to enjoy the stay. A nice place to stay and enjoy the surroundings.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, this 1860s cottage is the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful and tranquil escape.As you arrive at the cottage's designated parking area you can immediately enjoy the countryside views and appreciate the fresh air and stunning views before settling into your home-from-home.

Step into your cottage, where a wealth of character awaits, thoughtfully restored and full of charm.

Be greeted by a warm and welcoming sitting room, complete with a woodburning stove, where you can relax in comfort and admire the original features of the cottage.

After a morning stroll, look forward to cooking up a storm in the kitchen, home to a cooker and a sought-after dishwasher, before gathering around the dining room table for a delicious home-cooked meal.

As the night draws in, retire to either of the two bedrooms, a double and a ground-floor twin, both tastefully-decorated and offering a place to rest your head.

TARPORLEY

Chester 10 miles.

Tarporley is located in the local authority area of Cheshire West and Chester in rural Cheshire and the village is considered one of the county’s most attractive villages. The countryside surrounding Tarporley is perfect walking terrain, the famous Sandstone Trail, one of the best of the shorter long-distance trails in the north of England, passes close to the town. Tarporley Carnival, an annual event which takes place in July, is a popular community event with a parade in High Street to the show ground on Community Field. The village has also become something of a shopper’s haven. Further afield lies Chester, which has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park.
