  • "Two of us stayed at Bramble Grange and had a fabulous week."

Hot tub great and relaxing, the owners cleaned it daily. They had a box containing details of local walks, food and drink, taxis and other information that we found helpful. There is a Co op and a pub within walking distance. Also there is a takeaway and a fish shop. Details of places to eat are in the pack of information. The road has been mentioned by other reviews, but it was not a problem for us. You can hear it outside, but when the hot tub is on, its not really noticeable. The cottage has two double beds and can take four people, but four adults may find it small. A very relaxing week. We would definitely consider staying there again.

We had no issues whilst there so only saw Nicky again when we were leaving. Although there is some noise from the road, when in the hot tub you can't really hear this. Also when inside you cannot hear any traffic noise due to the double (or maybe triple?) glazing. It is only when sitting in the garden that you can hear the traffic and although fairly constant it is not really loud and certainly did not affect our enjoyment. Had a lovely few days at Bramble Grange and would definitely go back again.

  • "Lovely cottage and will get the 2 complaints out the way first."

.. it was booked for a birthday celebration and chosen due to it having a hot tub. My daughters were very excited! Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t available on the first night as they had changed the water from the last visitors and said it would still be cold. I understand that during COVID-19 extra precautions are needed but perhaps they should leave a day between each booking so the hot tub is available? They did kindly offer to let us use their hot tub which is located outside their house but it didn’t feel private and we felt awkward about using it. The second issue was the duvets on the beds. They are made of plastic and presumably there Incase visitors wet the bed. They are incredibly hot and slide down to the end of the covers in a big lump! We all slept badly on night 1 and in the morning I removed them from the covers and we slept just with sheets over us on night 2. Had I known, I would’ve brought our own duvets and would do so if we returned. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay. It has a lovely courtyard style garden which makes for a very relaxing area on a nice weather day. The little summer house is also cute and a nice addition. We ate our evening meal here. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. The host is lovely and very welcoming x

  • "The house is on a main road, the road noise was shocking, especially when in the bedrooms."

We were woken up by this on both days. The hot tub is directly next to the main road and the traffic is so loud we were unable to hear our friends when we face timed them. Most uncomfortable beds I've ever had whilst staying away, plus they were also the smallest double beds I've ever seen.

  • "Cottage was very nice and clean."

The only reason we booked though was for the hot tub, which was massively disappointing. Was told it was checked and maintained daily on arrival but on the second day in it there was a lot of brown scum and black hairs floating to the top when the bubbles were turned on, nobody in our family has black hair and we certainly aren't unclean and had showered beforehand. On the 3rd day my wife had planned her day around relaxing in the hot tub but when she went to use it and opened the lid it hadn't been cleaned, the water was green and it smelt terribly (like cabbage) and so was totally unusable. She knocked on the door of the owners but there was nobody in so she called the mobile number supplied to us and there was no answer, so she left a voicemail message. The call wasn't returned so she sent a text to the same number letting them know of the issue but there was no reply at all from the owners so she went out for the day instead. The next morning was check-out. I had a look at the hot tub and it was still in the same condition as the previous day. When handing the key over to the owner, she said that her husband had replied to the text saying that we could use their own hot tub. Neither my wife or I received this text message nor a phone call back regarding this. It wouldn't have been an option anyway due to the lack of privacy. She said that the hot tub should be self cleaning and asked if we had showered before using it or had creams on us that could have caused the issue. It was October so we definitely haven't used any sun creams, plus we have used hot tubs many times and have never experienced this issue before so it was definitely not down to us. Unfortunately, this issue ruined the stay so we wouldn't return. Regards Matthew Mitchell

It is a beautiful place with a cozy relaxing atmosphere. Hot tub is always a nice bonus to relax in the evening and even being next to a main road never had any problems with noise on a night time. Owners very friendly and helpful, showed us round and then left us to settle in.There was plenty of things to do around us as we had a trip round burton brewery and trip to Twycross zoo which was only a 10min journey. Went bit extra out to the heights of Abraham which was a fantastic day with views. Last time we went in the summer which was great as lots of seating outside in its own little sun trap with a summer house as well, this time of the year we could watch sun going down from hot tub in early evening. Really lovely place for couples and for small families would definitely recommend.

So much to do in the immediate area with families. The hot tub was a huge bonus and great to come back to after long walks in the sun. The owners were great and just left us to it but we knew they were there if we needed anything. Great little extras like milk coffee and tea on arrival. There was a file full of touristy things to do which we found really helpful! Only tiny down side was the bed covers. Plastic duvets which rustled everytime you moved and got wrapped up in. And would have been better with 2 single beds for the kids as they were small and my two couldn’t get comfortable. Overall though, a great little place to stay xx

The cottage was tastefully decorated, and the kitchen fully equipt, two double bedrooms, the beds were very comfortable. Ohhh and the Hot Tub was wonderful and relaxing. Bed linen and towels were included which was nice so didn’t need to take up space in case and beds reads ready to use on arrival. We throughly enjoyed the week. Thank you.

The cottage was as described with us spending hours relaxing in the hot tub having got back after a busy day. The owners were there if we needed anything but apart from a quick hello and goodbye we didn’t see them. Unfortunately the noise from the traffic was pretty loud and the beds uncomfortable but it didn’t spoil our time at Brambles Cottage and I would recommend it for a group of four to chill out for a week. On our last night we had fish and chips from across the road and had the best ever tasted. Wish we’d had them on the first night. Would go back.

  • "To be honest there wasn't much to fault the cottage and our stay."

The main thing what annoyed me is the fact that you advertise that there is a gym with this cottage, yet when we got there and asked about it I was told that the facilities were broken and awaiting to be fixed by sykes... I wasn't prewarned about this and I had prepared myself to work out while I was there. I believe this to be false advertising and that we should be entitled to some sort of compensation. Apart from this, I couldn't fault the hosts. They were very welcoming and practically didn't exist between saying hello and goodbye, they made it feel very private. Saying this they did let us know that they would be available if we needed any assistance with anything. Also, it was really nice to chill in the tub despite being right next to a busy main road but we did look this up and expected it.

  • "3 girls booked and enjoyed this lovely cottage."

Little pub and Co-OP less than a 10 minuite walk away. Host was lovely and came to greet us on the Friday and let us know that they would be around for our stay should we have any questions. We wanted the cottage for a relaxing weekend of hot tubs, box sets on our now TV box that we took as the property had wifi and to make use of the gym facilities... the wifi didnt work for streaming or sending of messages even though it had a minimum of 1 bar signal. The cottage could use some blinds for privacy as we had to keep all curtains drawn. Sykes have this cottage down as a 2 bathroom, the cottage has one. When we asked the host where the gym was we were advised that Sykes had been asked to remove the gym as it had been removed due to damaged equipment. Our stay was lovely but I believe Sykes have mis led our expectations and I would not use Sykes again for any breaks away.

Even moved there own car to allow us to park on the drive, which was greatly appreciated! The accommodation was comfortable for 4 adults plus a new born and had everything we needed. Hot tub was nice and secluded and local attractions are nice. Twycross zoo is 10 minutes away, great takeaway over the road, nice pub a short walk down the road, Moira (1.5miles away) is a nice little villiage with restaurants and things to do! The cottage is well equipped and the hot tub is amazing and so relaxing. The Admiral chip shop across the road was nice and local shops wasn't that far. Closest supermarkets however are around 15/20 drive away. We visited Tamworth Castle, Twycross Zoo, Ashby de la Zouch Castle and The National Brewery Centre In Burton-Upon-Trent during our stay. The whole accommodation inside and out was spotless. My husband and I were on holiday with our 3 year old son, so the 2 good size double bedrooms were excellent - very comfortable beds, good storage and lighting. There was a fold out dining table in the living area which was great for eating together. Also there was a lovely private hot tub and sauna, TV with DVD and WIFI access for us to keep ourselves entertained at night once our son was asleep. The main bedroom also had a TV. The owners live in the attached main house (a lovely couple who just leave you to it unless you need them) which, together with this holiday letting, wrap around a very cosy quite court yard style drive/garden with fish pond, lovely planting and evening lighting and a designated car space. I would definitely recommend this property for parents with one or 2 children or 1-2 couples looking to explore Leicestershire and neighbouring county's.
