Lodge was exactly as stated in description. Hot tub position perfect. Lovely walks from the doorstep and hotel down the road great for food. Small issue with hot water very quickly dealt with by Matt and Mark. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Very clean, immaculate lodge."

The beds were comfy. Kitchen facilities were good. We took our dog with us and she had plenty of room around the lodge as did we. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained. We had a couple of visits from the owners just to check the hottub and refill chlorine tablets, we appreciate this as we know how maintaining a hot tub at a clean and safe standard can be hard if not kept on top of, we have had bad experiences with hot tubs in the past that are not checked every few days so these visits are essential and we were happy the owners did this

The location is brilliant as it’s so tranquil but also there’s lots to do if you choose to. We did a walk around the lake which was just short of 5 miles followed by lunch at the nearby Rudyard Hotel. The property itself was so clean and tidy. It was everything we hoped for an more. The hot tub was huge and perfect for chilling. We absolutely loved it and couldn’t recommend it enough.

Plenty of walks, places to visit. Walk into Leek takes about an hour along the track. Boat club tea and cakes wow. Steam train is cute. Rudyard hotel staff fab, food is good too. All these days out then return to beautiful lodge and a hot tub you can use in any weather as it’s under cover.

  • "The cabin was beautiful, very large and spacious inside and out."

The cleanliness was second to none, the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed other than Home! The hot tub is HUGE and again lovely and clean and the under floor heating makes the works of difference when you get out. The wine was a lovely gift and we all felt at home straight away. Hot tub was maintained throughout our stay which was really reassuring as that’s not always the case in other places. We loved it and could have started another week or 2 easily! Love Rudyard lake…love this cabin! Thanks guys

  • "We were disappointed that there were no mats to go into the showers which were slippy when wet."

Also there was no indication that we had to provide toilet rolls. Other than that it was fine with plenty of kitchen equipment, comfortable beds and very clean. The bath towels were wonderful.

  • "Lovely lodge set up to a very high standard, hot tub was lovely and big and maintained daily."

Only slight issue was the co2 alarm that went off at 4am one of the nights but the manager came out and replaced it and checked everything out for us which at that time of night we very much appreciated! Would definitely book again if visiting the area!

  • "Beautiful clean fresh lodge in a lovely location."

Facilities exceeded expectations and even a bottle of wine was left for our arrival. More than enough towels of a good quality were available and the jacuzzi topped off each day. There’s plenty to see and do in Derbyshire and not all of it costing a fortune. We were just a little unlucky on this holiday with some of the weather but there are things to seek out inside. Good enjoyable stress free holiday.

The large hot tub was amazing to slip into at the end of a day of exploring the surrounding areas. The cabin is dog-friendly, with an enclosed garden area just outside, and very close to Rudyard Lake which is great for dogs to run around. Matt and Mark were always fast to respond if we ever needed them, and were friendly and helpful whenever we got in contact. We would happily come back here for a future break, and I would recommend it to friends and family.

We met Matt on one of the days and he was super friendly. The hot tub was incredible, the enclosed garden was brilliant and inside the Lodge was just perfection. We loved every second of our short break. We would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone, with or without children, with or without dogs - it's just idyllic. Coffee on the veranda every morning was hard to leave.....! Just brilliant - well done to Matt and Mark for having such a gorgeous property.

The lodge was spotless from every room to the cleanest oven I’ve ever seen. The shower also can not go without a mention! We were lucky to have amazing weather to enjoy the stunning garden, many hours were spent in the huge hot tub. I have nothing negative to stay about our stay or the accommodation. We will 100% be booking to stay there again. Matt who we dealt with was so friendly and on hand for any help we needed. Definitely recommend this property.

The kids absolutely loved it. A very short walk to the lake, where you can take a lovely walk or take out a rowing boat. We also visited the local pub for lunch which was nice. 5 min walk away. The owners Mark and Matt are always on hand and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a lovely stay and were all sad to leave, we would definitely return without a doubt.

The cleanliness of the lodge and the upkeep was brilliant. The hot tub was excellent and was filtered and maintained everyday. • "Enjoyed a fantastic week away at this quiet secluded log cabin."

Close to a lake where we enjoyed a circular 5 mile walk round it. Fishing and boat rides were available too! The cabin was spotlessly clean on arrival. All the crockery and utensils were of the highest standard. Matthew and Mark the owners were available to be contacted by phone if there were any problems. We enjoyed the hot tub! Thank you once again for a brilliant holiday!

  • "We had a great week."

The lodge was lovely with fabulous bathrooms ( showers were marvellous). Beds were really comfortable. There was plenty of space and it was really warm which was great as we went during Storm Dennis. We were able to take both our dogs and the walks from the lodge were excellent. The hot tub was fun and the owners were frequently on site to make sure it was clean and operating properly. Matt and Mark were both very helpful and were on hand when we had queries. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The only thing to watch out for if you have dogs is that the garden is not currently secure and the dogs could access a communal space, which in busier times might have been an issue. There was an outside verandah space which was secure but not suitable for dog toileting. I think the garden is to be made secure in the future. I would recommend the lodge, and the position by the lake was a great spot for a holiday with access to sailing, canoeing and rowing.
