“Great base to explore the Peak District.”

Had everything we needed in a cosy cottage and the log fire was a real bonus!

The property

This traditional mid-terrace cottage lies in the quaint village of Endon, resting in the Staffordshire Moorlands district, it’s just a stone’s throw from the Peak District National Park.

Middle Cottage offers a lovely place to rest when you’re not outdoors in the fresh, countryside air, offering a homely and classic interior.

Step through the front door and onto the wood parquet flooring of the sitting room, choose to put your feet up on either the elegant leather wing-backed chair or the larger sofa, with a Virgin TV package you can find something to watch as you settle into your evening, with a woodburning stove to keep you warm.

Move into the kitchen/diner, where a small dining table offers a sweet spot to sit at once you’ve used the impressive gas range cooker and hob to whip up something delicious for dinner.

Take your glasses of wine out to the garden on a warm evening, moving past the rear of the houses next door and into your own private lawn space, in view of the owner’s garden where chickens roam, completing the classic, rural scenery.

Travel up the old, narrow staircase and find your sleeping quarters hosting a double bed and storage for your things, and a window overlooking the village lane below.

Freshen up in the bathroom, with pale blue painted panelled walls, offering a bath with a shower over, a welcome, contemporary fixture in this vintage property.

Finally, up some further stairs, you can discover the second-floor room, with charming views over the rear gardens and fields beyond.

Step into the village, past the ford which runs just outside Middle Cottage, and enjoy walks from your doorstep in this wonderful countryside setting.

The Peak District National Park is an easy drive away, so head to popular locations like Buxton to see Poole's Cavern, The Pavilion Gardens, and Buxton Crescent, or further out to Bakewell and all that's in between for a delightful tour of the Peaks.

Just over fifteen-miles away is the adventure-filled Alton Towers, a theme park full of exhilarating rollercoasters and rides, not for the faint-hearted!
