  • "Lovely cottage, nicely decorated, well maintained and very well equipped, with plenty of room for a family of four."

Right in the middle of Bakewell but also quietly nestled away in a private and secure courtyard. Very nice welcome on arrival and owners were very friendly and accommodating. Well located for exploring the Peaks, with plenty of pubs and cafes and (of course) cake shops, nearby. There's no parking on site, but it's not hard to find somewhere nearby - just worth being aware of. Highly recommended - thanks for giving us somewhere lovely to stay!

The location was great, the property was quaint and charming and pretty much everything we needed was on hand. The welcome gifts were appreciated and a nice touch, and the owners were very approachable and helpful when we contacted them by phone. The lack of allocated on site parking was a bit of a drawback albeit that a permit for nearby on street parking was provided (allow time to park!). Would recommend.

My only small criticism is the shower upstairs. There was mould in the shower, on the bath mat, felt I couldn't use the bath mat, as needed cleaning. I hate to be critical, as this would not put me off booking this cottage again. This is a minor issue, but felt it should be highlighted.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for your feedback and so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We’re visiting the cottage ourselves shortly and will be sure to replace the mat in the shower. I knew exactly what I would be getting, what was expected of me as a customer and any important information I needed to know before travelling. The property itself was old world charm with modern conveniences. Extremely clean and comfortable. Location was amazing, yes parking is challenging but this was made clear and not a problem for me (as the reason for the trip was running and hiking in the Peaks). Would definitely go back in the colder months to get that even more cosy feel from the cottage.

  • "What a wonderful cottage!"

The location of the Robin’s Nest is just perfect! Being in the heart of Bakewell was just what we wanted and we couldn’t have been happier. The fact that the cottage is set within the gates of Kings Court not only added a layer of privacy and security, it also made it that bit quieter. Even the bustle of the morning wasn’t audible at the cottage. Absolutely fantastic! The owners, Julie & Rik, have set the cottage up to be very welcoming and comfortable. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise! The cottage had everything we needed for the 2.5 weeks we stayed there. The bedrooms had plenty of space and storage, and we all felt very much at home. Having two bathrooms was really nice as well. While there is a television, we didn’t turn it on at all but instead enjoyed the quiet evenings at the cottage, both in the lounge as well on the patio. The outdoor space, albeit limited, was so nice to enjoy with a glass of wine. The only things I’d note for others is that while we didn’t have any issues at all with finding parking in town with use of the permit (in June), it could be a bit more challenging for anyone with mobility issues. This also applies to the upside down nature of the cottage layout. We loved the private bedroom on the ground level with the rest of the cottage being up the staircase, but it is something to consider should you have mobility issues. We look forward to our next trip to Bakewell and a stay at the Robin’s Nest!! Thank you Julie and Rik!!

Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for your detailed excellent review. It was really lovely to meet you all and we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay in the cottage. We really hope you visit again and will pop in to say Hello! All the very best to you all, Julie & Rik xx Property Owner

After a horrendous 8 hour journey on bank holiday Friday, what joy to arrive in the peaceful courtyard surrounded by plants - a delightful oasis. Unpacking the car at speed on the road outside was a challenge, but that was mostly due to a very packed car with all the paraphernalia that comes with a 6 month old baby and a dog!! We hardly used the car once there as everywhere was so close, including the lovely Monsal Trail. Julie was very helpful before our arrival and the welcome pack was a really nice touch, especially the Prosecco! Definitely recommend Robin’s Nest both inside (loved the robin theme) and outside.
