  • "Fantastic property."

Beautifully renovated cottage and completely spotless. Great to have off road parking and yet be right in the middle of Baslow. Cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Will definitely recommend and have already rebooked for 2024 to visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Super stay! Many thanks...

  • "A delightful stay at Toll Bar cottage."

The hosts were very friendly and provided lots of useful information. The cottage is beautiful, a stunning location beautifully decorated and very cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had everything we needed, the hot tub was an extra bonus as we hadn’t noticed that when we originally booked. We would definitely return for another stay

About the location

BASLOW

Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles.

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
