  • "Our first visit to Derbyshire and Peak District and what a lovely welcoming comfortable cottage to stay in."

Useful offroad parking, loved the village, walks around it and great location for visitors attractions. Would recommend Sunday roast at local Old Gate Inn and well worth a visit to The Red Lion Hognaston.

So pleased you had a good time. Those 2 eating places are fab! Hope you had a safe journey home Property Owner

Bike storage was really useful. Thank you for the plentiful supply of logs - these were much appreciated on a very cold weekend! Would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. You are always welcome to return! It’s a lovely place to stay cosy in the cold weather. Property Owner

  • "Lovely place to stay in a really nice village."

Property was warm and cosy (kitchen is a bit small and colder but you don't want to spend lots of time in the kitchen on your holiday anyway do you?). Perfect for us! Great walking from the door and plenty to do in the area too. It was a bit tricky to find the property when we got there in the dark, and were glad of the instructions sent by the owner as we would have struggled using the ones we initially received from Sykes.

So lovely to get feedback from people that stay at Walton House Holiday Home. We really care that people have a nice stay and are able to enjoy their break from often busy lives. Come back soon! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with nice quality fixtures and fittings- comfortable beds and a wonderful shower."

Would definitely stay again . Nice welcome pack but milk not included which we would have liked for our cup of tea on arrival ! Only down graded facilities and maintenance as torch not working because batteries were leaking and as we had a power cut and needed it . Also had to change light bulb on arrival in side light master bedroom. Only small issues - we had a wonderful stay at Walton House and would recommend .

We’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Milk usually is provided, our cleaning company must have forgotten to leave it. We are so sorry. You must have felt tormented having the tea and coffee sitting there! Thanks for the heads up regarding the torch. We will sort it out. We do ask people to let us know if there’s anything amiss in the house. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage set in a picturesque village amidst the rolling hills."

Everything was available that you'd need for a holiday home; TV with good streaming services, good WiFi speed, toy box for children, wood fire and all the utensils, crockery and cutlery required. The owners were very responsive to any message we sent too and were so helpful and pleasant. Would love to stay here again and we'll be recommending it to friends and family.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Very easy to be nice and accommodating to such great guests. Hopefully see you back in Brassington soon. All the very best to you and your family. Property Owner

  • "We loved the house and really enjoyed our stay."

It was comfortable, cosy, well equipped and beautifully decorated and furnished. There’s a nice private garden and parking space. Brassington is a great base for exploring the southern Peaks, set in beautiful countryside with loads of cycling/walking routes and places to visit close by. It was great having two pubs in the village. We appreciated the generous welcome pack, thank you, it all got eaten or drunk! The one thing that would have made it completely perfect for us would be access to a washing machine (after wet bike rides) - but obviously space doesn’t always allow this, and we managed fine with the outdoor washing line and airer provided. We’d definitely book the house again for another stay in this part of Derbyshire.

Hello, we are thrilled you had a good stay. It’s such a beautiful part of the world to visit. Totally understand your comments regarding the washing machine, but unfortunately the space is in the atrium but the kitchen doesn’t have space to accommodate one. We thought it would spoil the atrium if we added one there. A bit of a design fault! Property Owner

It is beautifully situated to enable one to explore this part of the Peak District. We chose it as a centre for cycling the various traffic-free trails in the area. The property proved to be extremely comfortable and remarkably quiet and peaceful. We would like to thank the owners for welcoming us to this superb property.

We stayed for Christmas and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome, the owners put in a real Christmas tree and decorated. There was also a lovely welcome package when we got there. The chest full of toys and games kept us all entertained and the roaring fire made us all very comfy! The sitting room was definitely our favourite part with ample seating and it was very cosy. The facilities in the cottage were ideal. You can tell the owners have put a lot of care into the cottage. I would recommend this cottage for any season, we have discussed coming back during the summer to make use of the garden and sunloungers whilst explore the many walks nearby! Even though my partner is 6 foot 5 and struggled a little with the height of some of the doors, the cottage was well placed for all the attractions and we would certainly have no problem renting this premises again.
