  • “We had one or two minor issues which we relayed to the owner who lives away so relies on feedback to know what is wrong.”

It was a poor start as we arrived late due to the weather and it was wet and dark. The security lights had not been left on, it was extremely difficult to find the key safe and would have been impossible to enter the numbers if I very luckily, had not had a small torch in my bag. But we walked into a lovely warm house. I would be happy to return if I wished for another family get-together (this trip was for my 70th birthday).

About the location

DORE

Sheffield 6 miles; Chesterfield 11 miles.

Dore is a suburb situated close to the City Centre, known as 'Dore Village'. Laying in the charming depths of South Yorkshire, England, the village rests on a hill above the River Sheaf which gave Sheffield its name, and until 1934 was part of Derbyshire,
now a suburb of the city. Although the village is a relatively small glimpse of Sheffield it has a rich and diverse assemble of amenities, shops, restaurants, societies and interest groups, as well as three churches, two church halls and three public houses with restaurants. Dore is served by Dore and Totley railway station on the Hope Valley Line between Sheffield and Manchester. Close to the Peak District National Park, the lovely countryside is a magnet for hikers, dog-walkers and mountain bikers. Both villages have a selection of eateries and pubs.

Note: no stag/hen or similar parties.
This property has a £200 Good Housekeeping Bond.
