  • "Perfect for a restful stay, quiet location."

We live in Dorset & were visiting friends & family in the Staffordshire /Derbyshire area & watching racing at Donnington Park. Perfectly situated to explore the area & retire in the evening in the hot tub watching the cows, ponies, donkey & birds. It is a working farm so expect the usual smells etc....On arrival I spotted a rather large bull in the field... I was a little nervous... until I saw the cattle grid separating us!! ha ha.. Nearby village has a co op & great fish n chip shop. The owners had supplied everything for a home from home vacation.

Thank you for staying at Riversides, so pleased you had a great time, hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay and everything was spot on."

My only gripe was no blinds in the skylights in the bedrooms, so as soon as it came light it wakes you up. Lovely place though and I would recommend it, and I would definitely go again.

Thank you for your feed back. We have taken your comments into account and I have now placed blinds to the skylights in the bed rooms. So lovely you had a great stay at Riversides.hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Castle View Lodge and will definitely be back again."

The lodge and the location were beautiful, and watching the family work on the farm was fascinating. My daughter fell in love with Lula the horse who would greet us every morning from the nearby field, and she misses her loads already. The perfect base that is only a short drive away from so many great destinations including Calke Abbey, Elvaston Castle, Alton Towers and the Stepping Stones at the Peak District, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Thank you for choosing Riverside’s for your holiday stay in the beautiful counties, of Derbyshire/Staffordshire. It was a pleasure, hope to see you again soon Property Owner

  • "Lovely holiday."

Very Clean and comfortable. Very well equipped. Our only quip was the lack of blind on the bedroom skylights and lack of curtains in the bedrooms. This was fine for us but our young children woke early and we had to go and buy grow blinds. However this property was lovely and we had a great time. Thank you ☺️ the furnishing and decor are lovely :)

Thank you for your feedback very much appreciated .All skylights in the bedrooms now have blackout blinds placed and curtains. So lovely to hear you all had a great stay at Riversides.Hope to see you all again soon. Property Owner

  • "We loved staying here, it was very well cared for and loved the hot tub."

It was peaceful and it was lovely looking out and seeing the horses in the field. My only one gripe was there were no curtains in the bedroom on the window or the sky light so the light shone through from 5am… I’m a light sleeper so I was wide awake. Also it would have been lovely to have had a slightly larger bed in the main bedroom. If the bedroom had curtains added in and a blind on the sky light I would definitely return. It didn’t stop us having a lovely relaxing time.

Thank you for choosing Riverside’s,so pleased you all enjoyed your stay. And thank you for your feedback very much appreciated. All bedroom skylight’s I have placed blackout blinds and curtains. Hope to see you soon. Property Owner

Everything you need and more. Very comfortable. Loved the site being on a working farm. Met Janet the owner on the last day. She's really nice and friendly. Would love to have more information on the farm. Definitely would like to go again. My dog had a great time. Very peaceful. Highly recommended.
