“From the moment we opened the door the cottage more than met our expectations.”

The accommodation (providing an ideal base for a couple) was spotlessly clean, warm, cosy and very welcoming. Everything we needed was provided with the addition of a welcome pack which was appreciated. We enjoyed the large screen television with DVDs provided, (just like being at the cinema without the popcorn), and we could even watch TV in bed if we wanted. All facilities from kitchen equipment to the shower were excellent and parking was very convenient. The cottage is well situated for walking in the Peak District and some walks can be done straight from the door. We were very lucky and were treated to the unexpected February sunshine for our long walks. The weather combined with the lovely accommodation ensured that this was a very enjoyable holiday. We certainly hope to return in the future. (If published please do not use our actual names - thank-you)

Primitive Mews

Three delightful, stone-built, Peak District cottages, in the peaceful village of Chelmorton, 4 miles from the historic town of Buxton and 7 miles from Bakewell. A lovely renovation of a traditional stone barn dating from 1837, these fantastic Peak District cottages skilfully blend original character and contemporary styling, with exposed stonework, stone flagged flooring and en-suite bedrooms, whilst enjoying an idyllic village position. All three cottages also enjoy use of a grass paddock, perfect for family games. The surrounding area offers great walking and cycling and an abundance of wildlife, from Deepdale to the summit of the Low with its prehistoric barrows, which is also well-known for its September 1000ft fell race. Perfectly placed for all the National Park has to offer, these Peak District cottages really do offer a magnificent holiday retreat.
