  • "Fabulous apartment, only downside was the road noise as it's by a busy road."

    Therefore it was too noisy to leave the bedroom window open overnight, it was sweltering, so a fan would be a very useful addition.

    Thanks for your comments. The Parish Council is due to implement a speed reduction on the road outside and we are hoping that this will help with the road noise. We were having trouble sourcing fans due to high demand but have now obtained one for the apartment. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation is of a very high standard and was presented well on arrival."

    The appliances are to a very high specification and there were sufficient kitchen utensils for every eventuality. The only negative about the apartment was the sofa in the lounge, it was extremely uncomfortable despite the owners adding a layer of cushioning to try to make it better.

  • "Lovely, well maintained apartment."

    Just the right size for the two of us and our dog! It was well equipped with most things we needed although we couldn’t find the hand held vacuum? Bathroom well done with a great shower. Fabulous base for some beautiful walks :) The only downside was the couch which we found uncomfortable with or without the extra cushions. All in all a very pleasant stay.

  • "The Rock Mill apartment was lovely we had a terrace ,fantastic view of the rock face amazing."

    Jackie the receptionist was so welcoming . Full of advice and local knowledge. Everything in the apartment was first-class. The only problem we had was the oven combination microwave. We didn't know how to work it . Not a problem we ate out . .....

  • "A very comfortable apartment in an amazing location!"

    Everything you could need really for a long weekend away. Comfy beds, lovely bathroom with heated floors, a small kitchenette surprisingly well equipped for takeaways and over warm ups from local supermarket. EV charging, boot room and dog baths, shoe cleaning, I mean they truly understand what a holiday to Peak District entails!! The location is perfect for walks, hikes, drives and climbs. Truly recommend the Italian/pizza place next door, the Moon inn and the local curry house. Minor tweaking advice- the sofas were not comfy for telly watching for longer than an hour and please add some antislip matts in the shower. I missed a washing machine and dishwasher but that did not detract from our overall experience.

  • "The apartment is brilliantly placed for exploring around the Peaks."

    It is a lovely apartment, bed was lovely and comfy with quality bedding, it was lovely to stay somewhere where the bedroom doesn’t back on to another flat so it was lovely and peaceful. It was cosy at night and lovely and warm with the under floor heating in the bathroom. My only negative was the sofa seating cushions were not very comfy and the apartment could do with an oven dish, other than that it felt really safe and we will definitely return

  • "One of the best places we have ever stayed."

    Apartment was spacious, comfortable- well equipped. 1 slight moan - the door was too stiff, due to being a fire door, but needs some adjustment as both of us found it incredibly hard to open. A suggestion to help keep the shower glass clean - provide a shower squeegee & request guests kindly use it. The only other thing that would have been helpful would have been some oven gloves. Otherwise, fantastic accommodation, great location and we will be back!

  • "Wonderful little apartment for exploring the peaks."

    The accommodation is to a really high standard finish. It is a few mins from Eyam, 10 mins to Bakewell, 20 mins to Chatsworth and less than half an hour from Ladybower/Derwent reservoirs. Ideally located for walking and exploring the area.

  • "It's a very lovely apartment."

    But the cleansing of the bathroom was bad,if that was my apartment I would be so angry with the cleaning company,it needs a good scrub in the shower, the living area needed sweeping I asked for a hover n did it myself, they said they would do ut but I insisted that I would do it. Apart from that it really is a lovely little gem.

  • "The apartment was spotless and beautifully equipped with an amazing outlook on to a 'climber's challenging rock face'."

    We had a lovely balcony where we could sit out on sunny evenings. Staff on site were very helpful and informative. There were two dual Type 2 charge points on site using the PodPoint network and they worked well. Reassuring for EV drivers. A great location to explore this part of Derbyshire.

  • "Settee not very comfortable."

Baslow 1.5 miles; Eyam 2 miles; Bakewell 5 miles.

The delightful, traditional village of Calver lies in the shadow of Froggatt Edge and Curbar Gap, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. A wonderfully traditional village with a Post Office and a country pub serving good food, Calver is close to the National Trust-owned Longshaw Estate, and less than five miles from Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. As well as a traditional pub and Post Office, the pretty village of Calver has a cafe, petrol station, small supermarket selling local produce, a craft shop and a gallery, and is a wonderful base for walks, climbing and mountain biking. The village of Baslow with shops, pubs and restaurants is only a mile and a half away, and a further range of amenities can be found in the market town of Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District and home to the famous Bakewell pudding. Haddon Hall is close by, as is the historic village of Eyam with its selection of pubs, cafes and a craft centre, meaning a day out in the parish of Curbar can be enjoyed by all. Castleton, the home of the Blue John and Speedwell caverns, is 8.5 miles away and offers boat tours through underground caves. Hathersage, 2.7 miles away, is where you can find the Hathersage open-air swimming pool, which must be booked in advance, and, in the church yard, the grave of the legendary 'Little John'.
