The property

Nestled in the small village of Cromford in Derbyshire, is this fantastic semi-detached cottage, Stable Cottage.

Set over two floors and sleeping up to two guests, Stable Cottage is a charming pet-friendly couple's retreat, decorated in contemporary boutique hotel style and ideally located for exploring the glorious surroundings of the Peak District.

Step into the social hub of the home, an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting area, where you can conjure up a delicious feast in the well-equipped kitchen, as your loved one sets the table and pop open a bottle of fizz to enjoy with dinner.

After a hearty meal, retire to the spacious corner sofa, which also doubles as a sofa bed that can sleep up to two additional guests, where you can curl up in front of your favourite film on the TV as the woodburning stove crackles nearby.

Pour in the bubbles and treat yourself to a hot soak in the bath with your favourite book, before popping on your pyjamas and catching some rest in the king-size bedroom.

Wake-up and serve your other half morning coffee whilst you discuss plans for the days ahead and take in the beautiful views of the Cromford Mill Pond where you can see the sweet ducks and maybe spot a Kingfisher!

Explore your local surroundings of Cromford, by heading straight to the fascinating Cromford Mills, a 19th-century water-powered cotton mill, here you can opt to embark on a guided tour, or peruse the shops followed by a coffee in the delightful café.

Save yourself a night in the kitchen with a visit to one of the excellent pubs and restaurants just a short walk away from the property, including the superb Boat Inn with views over Cromford Mill Pond and alluring fireplaces.

Venture to the nearby town of Wirksworth, where you will find a delightful selection of pubs and restaurants, perfect for treating your loved one and sampling the local cuisine, a heritage centre where you can learn more about the town’s rich history and the popular Wirksworth Farmers Market, perfect for meeting the locals and purchasing locally sourced goods.

Just a short drive away is the village of Matlock Bath, home to the popular Gulliver’s Kingdom theme park, the Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade and the scenic Great Rutland Cavern.

See the sights via an alpine-style cable car at the Heights of Abraham, which offers cavern tours, walking trails and exhibitions featuring fossils.

Be sure to make a stop at Riber Castle, a magnificent 19th-century Grade II listed country house, which dominates the skyline above the village.

Next stop is the county town of Matlock, where you can hop aboard a vintage steam train on the Peak Rail and see the sights or take to the waters by boat in the beautiful Hall Leys Park.

Guaranteeing a refreshing break for you and your loved one in the heart of The Peak District, choose Stable Cottage.
