  • "We had a really good stay."

We have been to hayfield before but we would definitely book your cottage again. The cottage was better than we hoped. The welcome pack, wine, milk tea, coffee , sugar plus all the extras provided was very generous. Thank you very much. We did not need to worry about anything we may have missed. The cottage is in a lovely spot very central to all our needs .It was so peaceful and relaxing. There is plenty of out door and in door space. The outdoor space is also private with back and front sitting out area. A parking space of your own no need to carry your bags far. The owner Pat has really thought about her guests thank you again for a really enjoyable holiday

I'm so please that you enjoyed your holiday at the cottage. Everybody works so hard all year to be able to afford a break and it is such a pleasure to hear that you had a relaxing, good time in the lovely Peak District. Thanks for your kind comments Pat Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful week staying at The Cottage."

Extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. Excellent location for a walking or sightseeing holiday, with lots of information from both the owner, and pamphlets and maps at the property. We hardly used the car, eveything that we needed was in the village or very close by.The cottage was well kitted out, with good cooking facilities, and comfortable beds. There are good restaurants in the area, we were spoilt for choice.

Thank you for your help informing me that previous guests had flushed something down the toilet that had blocked the macerator. I'm sorry for your inconvenience at not being able to use the toilet during your stay, I really appreciate your understanding of the problem and giving access to the builder to assess the problem which included ordering and replacing the macerator. • "We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage."

It was very clean and the best stocked place we've ever stayed in, the owner really has thought of everything. Lovely treats for us on arrival and for the dogs too, these were much appreciated. There's a lot to do and see in the surrounding area. We did a few of the many walks on the doorstep but would like to do more so will definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, there are some lovely walks and lots of interesting places to visit. If you need great shopping Cheshire Oaks is less than an hour away and there is a little "stopping" train from Glossop to Manchester, a trip combining lovely views with a great shopping experience Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous stay the cottage was fantastic."

There was only one thing which is not that important, if there was a mirror just outside the the bathroom to plug in my hair dryer it would be marvellous, this is only my opinion and not a complaint. Thanks for a lovely stay 5 star.

Dear Mrs Rogers Thank you for your feedback. As suggested I will arrange for a mirror to be fitted kind regards Pat Property Owner

The Pack Horse and Colloseo are both in walk in distance and had awesome food and service. The location is excellent for exploring the Peak District.

Dear Mrs Thomas Could you advise if there are any actions I could take to make my guests stay more comfortable? I'm limited in what I can do as the cottage is in a conservation area but I am so pleased you like the cottage and the village kind regards Pat Property Owner

About the location

Chapel-en-le-Frith 4 miles; Glossop 5 miles; Buxton 8 miles.

The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.
