  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Cottage."

Location in the centre of Hayfield was really handy for the local amenities. The property was very clean with everything you could think to make our stay comfortable and easy. A nice size with space to move around Generous welcome pack with dog treats too. A secure paved garden space and it's own parking space. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with good storage space for clothes. Shower was good. We liked it so much, we have booked again for later in the year.

Thank you for your feedback, it's great to know you enjoyed the Peak District. I hope you enjoy your next stay as much as you did this one, each season brings it's own pleasures and challenges and and in the autumn you can sometimes see the Northern Lights in the dark sky. Pat Property Owner

  • "This cottage is a perfect place to stay."

It was our second visit and we will certainly return. A great location with plenty of walks nearby, plenty of places to have a drink or some food. The cottage is very clean, cosy and comfortable. And everything works! We've been elsewhere where this is not the case, but The Cottage at Hayfield is so well appointed. It is highly recommended. 5 stars!.

It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay again and it feels comfortable enough for a return visit. Thanks for the feedback Pat Property Owner

The Cottage was very clean tidy and cosy. I was able to take my two dogs who was very happy as there are lots of little local walks or longer walks depending on your own ability. We will be booking again soon

What lovely feedback even though the weather has been miserable. I hope you had a lovely Chirstmas and have a prosperous 2024. We look forward to you visiting again when you and your dogs can enjoy better weather! Property Owner

The cottage has everything you need and was spotlessly clean. We’d love to visit again.

We would love to see you again, hopefully when the weather is a bit better. The peaks are lovely in the sun or snow but not so good in the rain when the views are limited Property Owner

  • "A delightful warm and cosy cottage with everything you need for a lovely, relaxing holiday."

It was certainly home from home. We enjoyed the Welcome Pack which included milk, bubbly and human and dog treats. There was also plenty of supplies in the store cupboards. This is the first holiday cottage that we have stayed in that has supplied all day-to-day essentials. Enclosed front and rear yard areas for our 2 terriers. Perfectly situated for all the local amenities and local walks. Enjoyed regular walks along the flat Sett Valley Trail with a lovely welcoming Cafe half way (1 mile). Slightly disappointed with local eateries, although enjoyed Sunday lunch and an evening meal at The Lamb Inn, which is a short drive away. Will hopefully be returning to The Cottage again. Thank you.

Thanks you so much for your comments. I hope when you return you try The Sportsman which is a scenic walk away up Kinder Road. My late husband and I used to drive up, enjoy wine with our meal and walk back. Dogs are welcome there and our dogs liked the walk back and the walk the following morning to retrieve the car. I am told that The Sportsman can also offer pre-booked eat at home Sunday lunches! The Pack Horse, 2 minutes away is highly recommended but I understand that you have to book in advance as it is so popular. Property Owner

Wonderful property in lovely location. Extremely well equipped - perfect for holiday with dog

I'm really pleased that you (and your pets) enjoyed your holiday. Thank you for your kind comments. The nice thing about the location is that while it is so close to all the facilities it faces an unadopted road so that it is really safe for wayward dogs - I have a border collie so I should know. We needed to make a late amendment to our booking which did not incur any additional charge and for that we are grateful and minded to come to Sykes again in the future.

The property is close to stunning countryside and walks, befitting the Peak District. The cottage is brilliantly situated but will test your parking skills if you have an estate like us. We would definitely return here if we were coming to this area again.

Thnk you for your feedback, I'm glad you appreciated being in the centre of the conservation area. The parking is tight and if the weather is icy I park on the road! Very few of the cottages have a private area and the locals are all used to visitors and residents parking on the road. Extremely comfortable, warm and cosy. Excellent location for a walking or sightseeing holiday, with lots of information from both the owner, and pamphlets and maps at the property. We hardly used the car, eveything that we needed was in the village or very close by.The cottage was well kitted out, with good cooking facilities, and comfortable beds. There are good restaurants in the area, we were spoilt for choice.

Thank you for your help informing me that previous guests had flushed something down the toilet that had blocked the macerator.
