  • "Lovely cottage with super comfy beds."

    Located in the heart of the town. Only issue was parking which we were told beforehand but it was a faff moving the cars and finding a space nearby most days. However the cottage and owners were great and would highly recommend.

  • "The Nook is a lovely, old, quirky house."

    It has been renovated to a high standard. However due to it being a quirky property there are lots of stairs and level changes. In the downstairs hall there are 2 level changes. This is by no means a criticism but having mobility issues myself I wanted to highlight this to others. It didn’t spoil my stay as I just took my time but this may cause issues for others. The kitchen is small, although very well laid out. The beds and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. It is in the centre of Leek with an Iceland within walking distance and other supermarkets slightly further away. Parking did not cause us an issue as we were away during the restricted periods. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were friendly and kept in contact. We would definitely consider staying there again and recommend this property to others.

    So glad you enjoyed your stay, yes the Nook is a 400 year old cottage so could be called “quirky” I guess. It is on three floors as the description says, so if you are of limited mobility it may not be the best choice for you. Property Owner

  • "A lovely property centrally located in Leek and ideal for our girl's get-together."

    The Nook is very comfortable and has a delightful homely feel. The little festive touches for Christmas, complete with a decorated and lit tree ensured a warm welcome We enjoyed a wonderful weekend; the only suggestions we have are: 1. Kitchen - well appointed and stocked but both frying pans look like they need replacing. We weren't happy to use them even after giving them a clean. 2. May we suggest that a window blind is put up for the shower room to provide reassurance of privacy. Tony's and Zoe's communication was excellent and the responded promptly and helpfully to any queries. Otherwise The Nook was just the ticket to provide the home comforts that we value when we have opportunity to get away together.

    Glad you had an enjoyable stay at the Nook. We are always upgrading and renewing the facilities. All kitchen pans etc have recently been replaced again. Property Owner

  • "Ok for a short stay."

    However for a weeks stay the equipment needs upgrading, a good suzed refridgerator, a washer, a tumble dryer, a dishwasher. Also, there were no mugs, no trays, no teapot, no bowls.

    Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you there are plenty of mugs ( 10 cappuccino, 10 espresso, 10 tea cups) all on the shelf above the kettle, sorry you couldn’t see them. Im also sorry that you missed the use of a washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher but it clearly shows in the description that they are not provided at the property. All appliances are brand new and there are in fact 3 fridges (2 in the kitchen and 1 in the study to make life easy for garden use) in the property that capacity wise add up to more than a standard large fridge. The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris - a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, a good selection of restaurants, a local park and leisure facilities and real ale pubs.
