  • "We had a very lovely stay at The Parlour, and really appreciated the accommodation."

The cottage provided very comfortable, and well equipped facilities on a very well maintained farm, and while compact, was perfect for our family of 5. We especially appreciated the cleanliness and the lovely bright flowers on arrival. The WiFi and charging stations were a nice touch for those who needed them, and the shared utility space, and access to a paddock for kids to play were also great benefits. The cottage was fantastically well placed for the locations we wanted to get to, and we were only a short drive from walks at Mam Tor, Monsol Trail and Chatsworth, as well as the caverns at Castleton, the reservoirs and Buxton and Bakewell. Thank you for a very comfortable and lovely stay!

Thank you Joanna for leaving such fantastic feedback. We are always so happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again one day. Best wishes Wendy & Steve Property Owner

The cottage was very clean and although the kitchen area was small it had all the necessary items most people would require. We also had a basket of snacks provided which went down very well with a cup of tea on arrival. Our host was very helpful despite having some family issues to deal with during our stay. The cottage is at the top of a steep hill and when you go out in either direction you have a panoramic view of green fields stretching out as far as the eye can see.

Very confusiing about laundry bags and ringing bell on departure - couldn't find bags and no-one answered bell. Your instructions sheet has several ends of lines missing, slightly confusing. Took us a while to find cutlery! Overrall, very satisfied.

Thank you for your feedback and we are happy to hear you had a satisfying holiday. We are sorry for any confusion re the laundry and the instructions sheet. I will check out the errors. The cutlery in the table drawer is always a puzzle. Usually as you arrive we ensure you have all the info and are settled in, but your stay coincided with our own holiday. But wherever we are, my mobile is always with me so please don’t hesitate to text or call if you have any queries at all. Best wishes Wendy Property Owner

It feels and sounds as if you are in the middle of nowhere but in reality the cottage is not far from main roads and has wonderful access to all of our Derbyshire favourite walks and areas. The cottage itself was wonderfully warm and cosy having had a new heating system fitted recently. The cupboards were well stocked with plenty of pans and crockery. Dishwasher tablets were provided and hand washing liquid for those of us who prefer. The cutlery is hidden in a drawer at the end of the dining table......took me a while to find this, so perhaps it needs to be on the description somewhere?
