Spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable and welcoming, this cottage ticks all the boxes and more. Lovely welcome pack, smashing friendly owners and the most comfortable bed you could wish for. The village is very friendly, the shop is well stocked and the Red Lion pub has lovely food. The cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a great welcome pack of wine, eggs, milk. Also sufficient washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, toilet rolls etc. There was the added bonus of the pub across the green which must have taken all of 2 minutes to walk to which served delicious food with a friendly service. Cottage was in a very good central position within the Peak District National Park which proved an ideal touring base for all areas.

! The bed/bed linen is to die for! The cottage is ideally located for your holiday in Derbyshire, in the lovely little village of Litton. • "The cottage was perfect for a relaxing Autumn week in The Peaks."

It was very comfortable, cosy and well appointed. The close proximity to a village shop and the pub was a major consideration when choosing where to book. We would like to point out that the area behind the house has a table and chairs for outside eating, but the yard allows access to another property and therefore is not private. We were not at all concerned as we were not visiting in the warm months but this may be useful to those who enjoy sitting out. Outside the front door there is however another bistro table and chairs which gives a lovely view of the village green. I definitely would love to return to the cottage.

  • "This is a lovely cottage, very well appointed and spotlessly clean."

Its village location was great for having local amenities within walking distance whilst having beautiful countryside on the doorstep. The only downside for us was the lack of private outdoor space. The rear courtyard appeared to have a permitted access across it for people living in properities at the back of the cottage. Whislt this wasn't a problem for us on this holiday it would be a consideration if we were looking to book during the summer months.

It has everything you may need for your stay. We were dissapointed though that on web site it states off road parking. This is not the case. Yes it is off the main road but parking is on a slip road with a few other cottages. Therefore it is first come gets a space which we only got once. We have only booked places with proper off road or an allocated space. There is a carpark opposite for the school which a lot of people use but it gets very busy with walkers and pub goers etc. In summer it would be difficult to park. We also did not see a washing machine as stated, though didn't bother us but might some people. Due to the weather and Covid restrictions the owners pub opposite was only open Sunday which was a shame.

The washing machine is in the shed and we would have been only too happy to tell you this if we had known you couldn't find it, we were available every day for any queries you may have had, and we're sorry we weren't given the opportunity to help you on this occasion. The parking is off the main road and is in a secure dedicated road for the row of properties adjacent to the cottage and there is further parking available across the village green. Property Owner
