  • "A beautiful cottage, very clean and well equipped."

Lovely quiet location for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clear from the description that the bathroom was on the ground floor which was a problem especially if you have to visit two or three times during the night. It was a bit of struggle walking downstairs in the middle of the night. Maybe it could be made clearer in the description as the steps has been mentioned on the ground floor. Apart from this everything was perfect.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, it really does mean a lot to us. I’m so pleased you found the cottage so relaxing and peaceful and that it had all of the equipment you needed. I’m very sorry to hear that the downstairs bathroom was a concern for you. I really hope it didn’t impact too much on your enjoyment of the cottage. I have updated the description on the website to make it very clear that it is on the ground floor, to help any future guests. Many thanks Jenny Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

It was very well equipped and we very much enjoyed the welcome pack. The gardens and surroundings were lovely and it was very peaceful however the hens were delightful and were eager for scraps. We loved watching their antics. As you approach the lane make sure you don’t miss it as it is tucked away follow the instructions sent by the hosts. A great week exploring the surrounding area. Thank you both so much for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the gardens and the welcome pack, and it sounds like the chickens were very keen to make friends with you! We hope to welcome you both back again one day. • "The property was excellent, spotlessly clean and a superb welcome pack."

The short track through the wooded area was a bit bumpy and was easily missed on first location of the property. The friendliness of the chickens was really enjoyed by us both.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I’m so pleased to hear that the cottage was spotless and you enjoyed the welcome pack. The chickens certainly enjoyed their time with you! Thank you for letting us know that the lane was easy to miss when you first arrived. It is unfortunately one of the down sides to such a peaceful and rural location. I have added some further detail to the arrival instructions which I hope will help our future guests. I have also highlighted in the description that the access road to the cottage is quite bumpy, to prevent any surprises on arrival. Thank you again and I hope to welcome you both back again in the future. Jenny Property Owner

A beautiful property set in perfectly kept gardens. Views over the hills and woods. So Peaceful and private. The property has been very tastefully renovated. We particularly loved the kitchen, the wood burner at night and slow morning coffee admiring the gardens and the free range chickens. Can’t wait for my next escape to Pigwig Cottage! Helpful notes both in the welcome folder and next to relevant appliances. Welcome pack was lovely and helped increase the overall feel good factor.. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage 10 out of 10.

  • "Our stay at Piggly Cottage from the 27th to the 29th of March was truly outstanding, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway."

From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention had gone into every aspect of the cottage. It was absolutely spotless, with an exceptional level of cleanliness that immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. The cottage itself is beautifully presented, full of charm and warmth, and incredibly welcoming. Every room felt thoughtfully put together, creating a cosy yet elegant atmosphere that made it easy to relax from the very beginning. It’s clear that nothing has been overlooked, right down to the smallest details. Even having a well-stocked first aid kit upstairs gave us that extra sense of reassurance that everything you might need during your stay has already been considered. We were especially touched by the generous and thoughtful extras provided, including fresh eggs, milk, and bread on arrival. These little touches made such a difference and added to the feeling of being genuinely welcomed rather than just accommodated. The surrounding area is simply breathtaking. The views are exquisite, and the peacefulness of the location is something truly special. It was wonderfully quiet throughout our stay, allowing us to completely switch off and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. Waking up each morning to such calm and scenic surroundings was a real highlight. Overall, Piggly Cottage exceeded all of our expectations. It offers the perfect balance of comfort, beauty, and tranquility, with a level of care and detail that is rarely found. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable escape, and we will definitely be returning again in the future.

It’s wonderful to know that the peace and tranquility of the cottage gave you such a memorable holiday and that the welcome pack and equipment made for a truly relaxing stay.
