It was great to sit in the conservatory, or on the little patio. We saw a number of birds including kingfishers. Only suitable for people able to transport luggage from the permitted parking streets to the cottage. Plenty of parking spaces.

The kitchen is small but functional and the dance between 2 people in there is part of the fun!
Very well appointed, quiet and the riverside view (and associated wildlife) is simply stunning.

"Troutbeck cottage is beautiful!"
! From the moment we walked in - from the well equipped kitchen, through into the comfortable lounge which was lovely and cool ( we visited in the May heatwave!) and looking through the sun room and onto the balcony, the only word I can say is Wow ! Upstairs the bedroom is comfortable and there is lots of storage space (also had a good fan which was very helpful in the beautiful weather we had) The bathroom is excellent and spacious with a nice shower with good pressure. Also the fact that you can park near was a huge bonus as parking can get expensive in town. May I also add the welcome gifts were fabulous and an unexpected surprise ,thank you for sharing your beautiful home we will be back.

"The cottage was perfectly located just outside the town centre, and right on the riverside."
Everything we needed was provided, along with a few thoughtful very welcome extras and treats. Despite being on the main road, as the lounge & bedroom are at the back, there was no traffic noise...just the gentle background hum of the river. The rooms were all well appointed, and included all cleaning materials and hand/shower soaps/gels. The owners also provided free permit street parking for our entire stay, which was plentiful in the town and around the cottage.

"Delightful cottage as pretty as it looks in the photos."
Tastefully decorated throughout and everything you can think of or need is provided. There were lovely gifts on arrival (bottle of wine, local cakes, milk) everything to make you feel very welcome. The cottage is cosy and warm with underfloor heating and radiators, we were lovely and toasty even though it was January. Sitting in the conservatory with the sun shining in listening to the river outside was a real treat.
I would just like to make clear one point about parking, described as "a permit for one car close by", it is actually a on-street parking permit and the nearest spaces are about 80/100 yards away on a nearby street, across a main road. Double yellow lines and a high kerb make parking right outside the property difficult for loading/unloading, this was a problem for us as my husband is elderly with limited mobility and it made dropping him off as near as possible to the front door tricky. Because of this issue for us it is unlikely that we would return, however if this is not an issue for people I would highly recommend Troutbeck Cottage.

"New Year’s stay for a week."
Cosy cottage fine for 2, location good but need to be able to walk up hills into town. Backs onto river lovely to sit in conservatory and watch the water gushing by. Small issue with heating but sorted straight away. Sofa could have been better.
Town lovely, visited lots of local pubs all good just different so pick your favourite. A few eateries were closed for holidays after Xmas. Visited local English Heritage,NT properties and Ludlow castle all worth a visit. Watch otters and kingfishers whilst on a riverside walk. The flowers, treats, Xmas decorations and bubbly were a nice surprise. Basics were also available washing up liquid, tea towel, tea bags, milk and hairdryer.

A lovely situation on the river Teme. A well appointed lounge with a door to a conservatory with access to a small balcony. Modern kitchen, cooking utensils, tableware and cutlery in good supply. A modern shower and bathroom suite with heated towel rail. The bed was very comfortable, lots of drawer space and importantly hangers in the wardrobe. The cottage was warm and cosy and really nicely decorated. We would certainly recommend it.

"Really lovely stay, in a lovely spot!"
And thank you for sorting out the parking permits and what-not. The cottage is beautiful, was spotless when we arrived I think, and is perfectly comfortable for two people. (Ludlow was great fun to explore as well.)
The one thing I'd change/fix was the oven, which could do with a little attention - the bottom oven doesn't seem to work (?), and the top oven takes a long time to work, but it does eventually and the hobs are electric so they're fine. :)
