Alder Barn is a splendid cottage near the Peak District National Park, on the outskirts of Leek, Staffordshire.

With ample off-road parking for six cars, a warming wood-burning stove, and set in the tranquil countryside, this family-friendly retreat is an ideal getaway for families or groups of friends seeking adventure.

Pull up and park the car, and take in the picturesque views as you make your way to the entrance of this beautifully restored cottage.

Upon entering the property, hang up your coats and take off your boots and make your way to the kitchen/diner, with contemporary fittings and rustic vibes with exposed wooden beams, wooden countertops and wooden dining table and chairs.

It is fully equipped with all the essentials for your stay, with the utility nearby, store some treats in the fridge/freezer, microwave your favourite snacks, freshen up your clothes in the washing machine, whip up a feast using the electric oven and hob, whilst the dishwasher takes care of any mess left behind.

The attractive rural village of Ipstones lies on the western fringes of the Peak District in lovely moorland countryside, between the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne. The village offers a post office, village shop and pubs serving food. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking with miles of woodland trails and moorland hikes to enjoy. Dovedale and the limestone Churnet Valley are on the doorstep and The Manifold Trail is close by. There is easy access to many of the area's attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Lyme Park (NT) as seen in TV’s Pride & Prejudice, the NT Ilam Estate or Peak Wildlife Park. A great touring base for all the Peak District - and Alton Towers is just a 10 minute drive away.
