Fern Cottage is a charming retreat situated in the heart of Cofton Hackett, Worcestershire, built in the 1750’s nestled at the foot of the Lickey Hills, a beautiful cottage with a garden that almost reaches onto the hills, it seems like you’re stepping into a different era.

Once a childhood home to author J.R.R Tolkien, this family-friendly abode offers ample off-road parking and welcomes a well-behaved pet.

With a nearby shop, pubs, and the owners' bar see note; it's perfect for families and friends seeking a memorable getaway.

Enter your new holiday abode and walk into the dining area with an exposed stone feature fireplace and a table accommodating up to 8 people.

To the right down a single step is the spacious kitchen, fully equipped to cater to all your culinary needs throughout your stay with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, ample cutlery, crockery, etc for 12 people making it a real home from home as well as essentials such as, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, herbs, cereal.

On arrival tea, freshly ground coffee and milk are provided, for that much needed cuppa.

The handy utility room is beyond the dining room to the left and houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing facilities, ensuring all your laundry needs are taken care of and where extra towels are stored.

The sitting room, complete with a plush sofa, two armchairs, wooden chair, TV with Amazon Freeview, radio/cd with bluetooth, some books and games with an open fire, is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration.

The room is further enhanced by charming beams, adding a touch of rustic charm to the space.

On the first floor, you will find three well-presented bedrooms all contain hairdryers.

There is a WC for added convenience, so you don’t have to go downstairs to the main bathroom during the night.

The super-king-size bedroom, adorned with beams and featuring an armchair, offers a tranquil space to rest.

The twin bedroom holds a unique claim to fame, the owners believe this is the very room where J.R.R Tolkien once slept with the room having 1 full size single bed and a slightly shorter single, 6ft in length.

The third bedroom is a single, with the option of a pull-out bed, making a large zip and link double offering flexible sleeping arrangements for your group with a wall closet also holding a small safe.

The property also benefits from a ground-floor bathroom, complete with a freestanding bath, handheld shower, walk-in shower, and basin, providing a variety of options to prepare for your day.

Outside, the enclosed front garden offers a tranquil spot to enjoy the outdoors, with a patio and a seating area, steps lead you up a grassed bank to an extra higher seating area, ideal for watching the day draw to a close.

A shop and pubs are on your doorstep for any essentials or a drink out, with supermarkets and cinema within a mile.
