"We found Blockley Lodge very comfortable and well kept."
The area is lovely, and quiet and the owners were not intrusive in any way. What surprised us was the quality of the goods used in the property and all was in excellent working order. The owners welcome pack was also a lovely surprise, just what we needed after our 5 hour journey. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

"Michael and Dawn were very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive."
The welcome pack of fresh local produce and homemade cake was very much appreciated as were the dig treats. The property is very clean, comfortable and well equipped and in a quiet location. Lovely enclosed garden is a sun trap in the late afternoon. We were able to use it as a base to explore the market towns of Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Cardingmill valley and The Long Mynd ( not a drive for the fainthearted and we did have a very close shave getting stuck on the narrow road with no passing place and a sheer drop). Also went to Acton Burnell castle ( free entry). Lots of lovely walks fro those interested in that. Range of shops and eateries in nearby Church Stretton. Will definitely be booking again. We had a lovely few days away staying here.

"Lovely cottage, beautifully warm and cosy constantly."
Ideal for 2 people, 4 people in the cottage could feel claustrophobic and you would be on top of each other continually. Lots of hot water on demand, beds were comfortable, good storage space in the kitchen with more than adequate kitchen utensils. Owners left a lovely welcome hamper. Good base to explore Much Wenlock, Church Stretton and Cardingmill Valley and Long Mynd if you’re feeling energetic.

"We had a wonderful stay and were given such a lovely welcome, complete with thoughtful local products."
The cottage was extremely comfortable, with cosy beds, a big sofa, and a large TV, perfect for relaxing after a day out. The little enclosed garden was ideal for our dog, and everything was spotless, with fresh, fluffy towels provided.
The only thing we missed was a tumble dryer, as drying clothes in the winter months was a bit of a challenge.
There are so many lovely places to visit nearby – Carding Valley Mill is a must, especially if your dog enjoys walks and water. We’re already looking forward to planning our next visit!

"One of the best dog friendly cottages we’ve ever stayed in, this is the only one that has provided food and water bowls for our dog!"
! We’d quite happily live here!! Well equipped , comfy clean bed, secure garden, owners live next door but are not intrusive .Lovely welcome pack too. It is situated in a small hamlet with lots of local walks and is handy for Shrewsbury, Ludlow and you could even pop over the border into Wales. We will hopefully return one day. If you’re reading this and looking for a dog friendly cottage, then book it now, cannot recommend it enough.

"Blockley Lodge is a lovely annex located in a tranquil village setting."
Dawn and Michael were attentive but unobtrusive owners. I loved the personal touches- fresh flowers, home made jam and cake and local produce, (milk and bread). Spotlessly clean and well equipped the property was very comfortable, and the small garden was lovely- the bird feeders ensured we got to know the local birds. It was a lovely relaxing break which was just what we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Shropshire and the Marches. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was the intermittent WiFi.
Hi Rayna,
Thank you for your lovely review—it was a real pleasure hosting you! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
We also appreciate your feedback about the WiFi. We’ve addressed the issue to make sure it’s reliable for all future guests.
